A select group that I'm a part of at my school did an amazing version of this song. Check it Out! SVE-Golden Dream. I promise, we're amazing...especially for high school kids.
A few years ago I got a chance to meet Bob Moline who wrote the music for "Golden Dreams" along with several other songs from EPCOT. Bob is a real down-to-earth guy and I had a great time talking with him about his music.
People do that same stuff on American Idol and Dancing with the Stars...clap in the middle of them singing or dancing. These are obviously unseasoned travelers and people who don't go to the theater often. It's annoying and just plain ole lame.
To actually respectfully reply and disagree with you it is traditional and almost expected in traditional as well as jazz concerts for a soloist to be honored with applause after thier solo is performed. Seeing as Acapella is an art that is a mix of Jazz and Traditional the applause in this video is appropriatly placed. The theatre has different rules than the concert hall.
I am going during Christmas this year, I have heard that they may be singing in the candelight processional and not in American Adventure. I hope that is not true. They definitely give me chills every time I hear them!
Yes, they usually sing in the Candlelight Processional every year. Christmas is awesome at Disney, especially at EPCOT. Do NOT miss them at Christmas. Check my videos for a Christmas excerpt
This is from the American Adventure at EPCOT. The song is from the show which is hosted by Ben Franklin and Mark Twain (the animatronic versions of the two). Nancy Kerrigan skated to this her Olympic performance years ago..it may have been the year of the Tonya Harding debaucle, but I can't remember for sure.
does anyone know which disney classic cd this song was on?? i love this song. and i remember singing it as a child in the car. with the jfk, martin luther kind speech and the landing on hte moon..
This is very impressive! I just went to Epcot this month and if anyone decides to go this is a show you do not want to miss. These people are beautiful singers!
Everytime I see this I am stunned. I'm not even American and I feel patriotic. Was this part of the building designed to give off such amazing acoustics?
Actually, yes it was designed to give the great acoustics. If you come to the show before they begin they encourage everyone to sit at the edge of the red circle to take advantage of the dome's incredible acoustics.
I have no idea about the specific acoustics (although the domed ceiling probably helps a lot), but I have the same weird "patriottic" feelings for America when I heat this in Epcot, even though I'm Dutch myself. They are just great singers, with very good songs in a beautiful environment, and that sure helps in delivering the message.

People clap when a soloist goes back with the rest of the group. You have not been to Operas, Plays, and Ballets.

@TheStormchaser1 Good job this isn't an Opera, a Play, or a Ballet then. It's at Disney World. Get over yourself.
