I was editing for about half year before I uploaded to youtube (and you do not want to see the disasters I created, let me tell you). But you get better and better. Watch a lot of high quality videos and try to really see what it is, exactly, that makes them good and then try and emulate (but not steal) it. Hope this helps :)
