Janis Ian has always been an enchanting singer- came across recently her one night in TV, just standing there singing- absolutely spellbinding! This is one of my favourites, and when I played the old cassette to my highly critical 21-year-old, even he was impressed. Thanks for posting- this sounds better than my old worn cassette, and is lovely to watch too!

The thing about Janis Ian was that her sheet music and vocals were used to teach us to independently move lips and arms; sheet music is no longer available.....a youngster who is learning to sing has to do Adele; which is a tall order. However should any band member read this please contact me' as the singer i have in mind .

15 yrs. I was back then! Very hard time by then already... :) but this is one of these songs that helped me to hold on to face this world with all its ups and downs! To be in this place we call Earh instead of to belong to this place/world! Loved "At Seventeen" by her, I was 17 at the time and really related to that song.But for me this her loveliest song. Fabulous sax solo on this.Written by Janis Ian and Albert Hammond.Only got to No44 in1980.Should have been top ten.Shame on you British record buying public!!! Pax to all from Ian Smith.Xxx.
