  • Abrams should have used this

  • Oh, how I wish this had been the 2009 "Enterprise".

  • Gene Roddenberry was a revisionist. He would agree with me, and Trek 2009 was actually fulfilling Gene Roddenberry's wish.

  • @bhorwith22 No it wasn't. It has no point.

  • With TOS BLUE Phasers! This is full of win!

  • Nice!

  • This is, hands down, THE best non studio redesign and rendering of the starship Enterprise ever. It perfectly fits with the technology level depiction of the original series era and texturally looks like an evolution from the NX-01. Abrahms design would fit better as the Enterprise-A in ST:IV Voyage Home. Elements such as it's slightly wedge shaped connecting dorsal and bulbous warp nacelles leading into the eventual design of the Enterprise-C.

  • If we could get someone to release an edited ST '09 with this ship replacing JJ's... I'd be a happy man.

  • @staven512 My thoughts exactly !!!

  • This is what the Enterprise should have looked like in the movie..jj abrams Enterprise does not cut it.

  • @charger7745 i agree 100% JJ's enterprise looked like it came out of a cereal box or something and looked stupid

  • @sebwilkins no it didnt. BAME different opinion!

  • Way better than the one in Abrams' Crap Trek.

  • @thafoofa definatly, looks far more powerful and more like a starship and not something from a toy box

  • PETER THIS IS THE WORST TIME YOU COLD HAVE CALLED.

    ok bye.

  • This ship is badass.

  • Agree one kajillion times over; this should have been the reimagined ENTERPRISE. The one in the '09 film is far too toy like, but if you look at Ryan Church's resume, you'll see why -- his big claims have been Eps 2 and 3 of the STAR WARS prequels. His ENTERPRISE looks like something the Naboo would have built.

  • @Zoidfarb Yep!

  • Ya, THIS should have been THE Enterprise of the alternate reality. I am sure there still would only be about 400 crew members, not like 1,000. AND, the phasers on this one makes sense. I am sure that the enginering would NOT be a beer factory for the scene, but a well made enginering room.

  • Abrams ship is crap, this is a little better. Not saying much....

  • Its terrible that he has such talent and can't even finish a job anymore

  • @scifiguy120 You've got problems, dude.

  • Nice use of the theme from the Doomsday Machine!

  • Reading the comments and well...why is it even a discussio?. It's all in fun, adventure, and fiction. I like it all. Sorry, but that's my opinion.

  • This Prise is a brilliant homage to the original as well as it's own thing at the same time.

  • you hear the phasers speak .. yeah baby!!

  • I love it! It has the original feel, but is tougher!

  • 2009 Movie Version = Hot Rod

    Koerner-Prise= Hummer

    TMP Refit= Awesome

  • @Gorandius1256 TOS Enterprise = Priceless and unreplaceable. I don't like this version either plus Koerner is a psycho. You should see how quickly he goes nuts over a question about a CGI Star Trek model he did.

  • @MasterJediKyleKatarn You cant make a modern movie without revamping while Keeping MAJOR Faith to the original. your not thinking logically.

  • @Gorandius1256

    correction

    TOS version= priceless classic

    Koerner's Enteprise= Hummer

    TMP counterpart= badass

    ST11 2009 version = hyperdrive space trash.

  • @FLAME4564 I agree.

  • not to keen on ths am warming to the new 1 in the movie :\

  • You know what gets me about you Abrams Enterprise bashers? If Koerner had designed it you would all be slobbering his knob over how much you loved it. Likewise, if Abrams and ILM had designed this "Koerner-prise" you wouldnt stop screaming about how horrible it looked.

  • yeah you are right

  • This would have been much better for the 2009 movie than the sad, droopy one they used. My favorite, though, is the model used in Star Trek The Motionless Picture through Undiscovered Country.

  • Yeah, the Constitution-class refit is by far the best ship in the Star Trek universe. It had the same character as the Original Series but it looked amazing.

  • @zigertube Seriously the JJprise reminded me of a very short petite woman with triple D knockers, always on the verge of falling forward because of all that weight in the front. JJprise looks WAY to unbalanced for me.

  • @GeneralKenobiSIYE -Couldn't have said it better myself, and in addition, those warp nacelles on the JJPrise look so stupid! Gabriel's version is spot on, his Enterprise looks TOUGH and ready to kick ass, without being totally militaristic. Great color combinations too, no drab at all!

  • better then the 1st ship of gene dude u guys are nubs if u think this 1 sux

  • Looks too heavy and clunky. Sorry...1964-1969 Enterprise is the only way to go.

  • i luv the sound the phasers make

  • So much nicer than the piece of junk we actually got in the movie!

  • I would totally have gone along with this being the new design of the Enterprise, not that unbalanced piece of streamlined junk they used in the actual movie.

  • I like the look of this Enterprise better than what they used in the new Star Trek movie. :)

  • naaaaaaa

they wanted something radically different- they wanted the enterprise, but yet they didn't want the enterprise. I mean don't get me wrong- Gabe's enterprise is beautiful- I love this, and who knows, this may be the ship they choose for the new television series-

"Star Trek" with Rick James as the Captain.-

    "You cold as ice"-

  • Hear Hear! Not only does the Enterprise in this clip look better, the way it's lit is better, and the way it moves looks better. The Enterprise hasn't looked this good since the first Star Trek Movie.

  • WOW, this is incratible!

Can I know, in what program you created this?

  • Eh, it's okay. Sort of like having Boris do the cover of a Star Trek paperback. (There's an obscure reference for you.)

Best part of this -- the deep hum accompanying the phaser fire. Dig that a lot.

  • This is 10000000000000000000000 Times better than the New Enterprise.

  • i agree alot

  • STAR TREK XII ! Enterprise needs a refit! Abrahms design crew sucks. Tone down the bridge. Casting director-BRILLIANT! Deforest Kelly would be proud of Karl Urban. Enterprise from ST:TMP still the most beautiful and graceful of all versions of the ship.

  • soz but that aint a reimigned ship lol XD Gabe just made it look like a TOS ship on steroids XD.

  • REALITY CHECK.

This design aint official and aint getting used why? cuz its Gene Rodenberry's desicion and not up to dumbasses like the lot of ya.

  • Um you do realise it actually isn't up to Gene as He passed away like 17 - 18 years ago

  • Gene Roddenberry has been dead for nearly two decades.

  • FLAME4564- REALITY CHECK!!!

Ol'Rodenberry's been dead for quiet a few years now. So are you saying paramount has a way to talk to the dead? 'Cause that would be sweet

Also, IMHO this would have been a better pic for the movie

  • Hahahaha. That you didn't know Gene was dead.... It looks like WE are not the dumb-asses here.

  • Nice except that phaser beams travel at about 97% the speed of light.

  • Yea but you have to understand if every movie showed a directed energy beam excactly as it would behave in real life then you wouldn't even see a beam, just a dot of light on the enemy ship taking damage, and if you wanna take it even further you wouldn't even hear any sound effects nor see explosions. I twould make for a very boring movie.

  • high energy beams can be very VERY visible

  • Like this better then the new design for the movie. This feel more like the first Enterprise, but has some new details to make a little more current. The other one, just doesn't have that same feel.

  • I'm fan of the original design, but I would have loved if they used this design in the movie, instead of the Enterprise they using. This feels more of a tribute toward the first Enterprise, but having something new in the details.

  • That's partly true, but I'm quite happy with the design they used. Koerner's feels too shallow. It's basically just the TOS model with some modification. The added details make the ship feel too industrialized and take away some of the charm it had before. In my opinion, the design used in the latest movie more successfully evokes the graceful and sleek design the TOS model had in its time. I didn't like the way it looked at first, but it has definitely grown on me and it looks great in action.

  • the re imagining I have ever seen. To bad they won't use this in the new movie

  • I hope this version is used in the new movie. It's very similar to the original Enterprise yet updated for a 2008 movie. I won't bother even seeing Star Trek XI if they're not going to use a design that resembles the original Enterprise.

  • this design isn't being used in the new movie, although they should've and I think everyone who's seen this design then looking at the trailer would think the same.

  • That looks so awesome.

  • again......I don't agree with all design points but anything is better than fishtail nacelles.

  • Hence the problem with startrek fans, they whine about nothing ever new being created with the series and when they do do something actually good looking you all critize. I say well done and keep up the good work!

  • enterprise should have white paintwork dammit!!!!

  • Where is that phaser sound effect from? I have been trying to get it without the background music.

  • I like this Enterprise, but I think at the end of the movie this ship should undergo a major refit to look like the one from the show.

  • the saucer section and the fuselage should stay the same but the deflector dish and warp nessels along with the impulse engines should resemble closely to that of the refitted 1701-a.

  • the saucer section and fuselage should stay the same but the deflector dish and warp nessels along with the impulse engines should resemble closely to that of the refitted 1701-a.

  • Great!

  • love the sound of the phase cannons meaty growl from the ships drive in orbit.

  • First of all I just have to say "I don't like the carpet" if anyone can tell me who said that and about what you get a cookie. Second of all that is THY worst weapon sound effect I have ever heard the Defiant's pulse cannons being the best. third it's too big and from the rear you could think it was Excelsior class. I wish they would stop with the prequels I know they are trying to get new fans but come on stop rewriting history and screwing with Gene's vision it's not right it dishonors him!

  • You know, I hope you are very well aware that this has nothing to do with the new movie?

"but come on stop rewriting history and screwing with Gene's vision it's not right it dishonors him!"

Who said anyone was doing that? No one.

  • Are you even aware of what you're writing???

  • GOOD LORD!!!! FRIGGIN BADASS!!!!

  • Of the 4 original enterprises I've seen this is the most "borgafied" but I like it.

  • Looks like Star Trek and Robocop had a kid

    XD

  • I think it looks and sounds threatening..I loved the original but this one has an edge to it. Damn, I love this ship!!!

  • It shouldn't look and sound threatening! My god what are these people doing to my Star Trek it's like giving a replicator to the government and expecting them to use it to help people! Star Trek should take a rest until someone whose a REAL trekker that knows what he or she is doing can restore it back to Genes vision no more wars, immoral behavior, and insulting the prime directive. While it may be a unrealistic utopia that's what Gene wanted to show humanity at it's best!

  • Yeah, I'm convinced you aren't totally clear on what you're talking about. You're confused.

  • This NEW OG Enterprise is fukin AWESOME! SHIT! That was a great little demo, I am now excited! I was worried when they gave Shatner the axe but I am seeing they wanted this to be KICK ASS! I don't think they are gonna let us OG fans down.

  • Koerner has denied that his model is going to be used in the new film...

  • It would fit as a refit of the enterprise of the origanl series a refit before the refit in star trek the motion picture where the enterprise looks exactly like the Enterprise A however this ship gabe koerner showed looks bigger than the Enterprise A

  • Terrible, bulky, sloppy, the original had smooth lines. This version of the old constitution class is a nightmare.

  • The old constitution, had barely any detail on it, If Star Trek was Made today, Thats what it would look like besides the original ship is just dull, and well, boring. The newer version that Abrams is using will have Far more detail.

  • Wrong lieutenant. Way wrong.

  • The musical theme went well with Gabriel's model. But the phaser didn't sound too Post-TOS-TMP, but it seemed to fit well with it.

  • Real nice.. That was like a phaser from hell..

  • SHIT that's smokin'! Does JJ Abrams have this guy's phone number?

  • JJ Abrams MUST use this model for the new film. Its fantastic!

  • I have always loved this design since a saw it a year ago. It should be in the new film, and i love that phaser sound. I so want a model of this. 5/5

  • i like how it manages to stick to most of to the classic design elements, while still making the ship as futuristic looking as the enterprise's A through E. This thing makes the one for the planned movie look like a cheep knockoff.

  • To be honest it's futuristic looking, but also very old looking in a sense of the lines of it. The way the rear of the nacelles are dragged out, and the front of the nacelles and engineering hull are hooded like that put me in the mind of American cars of the 50's. All it needs is some chrome! If Caddilac had built the Enteprise in '58...

  • i think the producers or whoever should hire gabe koerner for the new movie thats due in 09,due respect to matt jefferies in all but c'mon this enterprise owns all for the new movie i love it, they should come out with a model too.

  • so this isn't it?

    Outta be

  • very nice work!:D but the sad truth is... that acctually there is no sound in space;)

  • Except in the accretion disk of a black hole... 57 octaves below middle C. I agree this is good work and while this is not the actual ship, the colouring and the forward of the nacelles is very close to what has been seen in the first real trailer.

  • okay, now lets see the photon torpedo shots and warp test........

  • wow! that is nice!!

  • okay----------

    I've got a hard-on

  • o_o duuuuuuuude I'm gonna have to see the movie... Rumor has it that this ship is gonna feature in a movie sometime around Summer '08.

  • This isn't "the" Enterprise...it's a fucked-up Firefly/Serenity close wanna-be.

JJ Abrams may be a genius when it comes to sci-fi, but if this "ship" is used in ST XI, he will be doing a disservice to an entire generation of Trek Fans who grew up with THE REAL THING.

That sound you hear is Gene Roddenberry turning over in his grave.

  • I don't think Gene Roddenberry really cared about keeping his ship EXACTLY THE SAME SO THE FUTURE WILL BE JUST LIKE THE 60's. It's about the future, not the past, THATS STAR TREK

  • Couldn't have put it better. Star Trek is a futuristic sci-fi opera. People need to understand though, that this...is a movie...a movie based off of a bowl of stories that started the whole series of Star Trek. So what the ship looks different, it looks great! It's a movie built off the foundations of what makes Star Trek. So all you trekies out there, need to just enjoy what you have instead of complaining.

  • dude....relax, its a kick ass ship...sure its not the original plastic model, but it looks like a hell of a warship.

  • The Enterprise wasn't a warship, it was an exploratory vessel.

  • fine whatever dude..its still awesome.

  • True, but it was certainly armed like a warship and more than capable of fulfilling that role. And I'm pretty sure that the Klingons considered it a "heavy cruiser". I think "warship" versus "exlporatory vessel" depends entirely on it's current mission/orders etc. If it was posted to patrol the neutral zone for example, that's the remit of a warship.

  • All I can say is...AMEN!!! Dammit, people don't seem to realize that the Enterprise, although it could kick major ass, was an EXPLORATION ship, NOT a warship/battleship/dirty space pirate ship!!

  • Yes that "enterprise" may be a wanna-be' yeah Gene Roddenberry might be dissapointed, but be happy that star trek is back at all.

  • I'd rather Star Trek die then turn into something its not. Either alternative (A hyper progressie "nu" era war story or a poor attempt at a throw back.)

  • Thanks to JJ Abrams and Gabe Koerner for assraping YET ANOTHER icon of science fiction.

This is STAR TREK, not FIREFLY or SERENITY...do try to remember which is which

  • it sounds like shit if there's no sound

    keep your head in it

  • After BSG and Firefly, can you get away with sound in space anymore?

  • The Official Trailer for XI is coming out on Friday! It will be a preview before Cloverfield.

  • This should be a very interesting trek movie.

  • awsome

  • Where the hell does this concept come from??

  • O M G

  • Holy Crap! This should be the Enterprise from the new movie. I know it is a little different from the serioes, but for a new big-screen adventure, we need to make the ship fit more inline with what something that would be more advanced than what we saw on the series Enterprise; and this fits perfectly!

  • From what I understand, this will NOT be the Enterprise in the forthcoming movie. Too bad, I say. I love it, and I'd love to see it on the big screen.

  • Oh my freaking...oh my freaking...wtf...easily far cooler than any phaser stuff done...ever...EVER. And the angles...beautiful.

  • Just a beaut!!!
