  • phenomenal voice

  • Mucho mistrust lol

  • "mucho mistrust" .... best lyric in all of music ahahahahaha

    !!!!!!!

  • Faye Wong is very good. Debbie Harry is very good. Covers are fun! So - chill down - singing is not a competition. Actually I think this version added interesting stuff. It has a more locomotion steamroller type of movement. I like it. And I like the visuals. And both girls are nice to look at in their own ways.

  • @charlesvolcher35 傻逼...

  • BLONDIE IS BETTER

  • very nice

  • AWESOME

  • I LIKE THIS

  • NO originality, just an exact copy of the original. Better just to listen to Blondie.

  • see u faye in hong kong~2011-3-6

  • Wong Faye is the 2nd most popular singer in the world...passed only by WeiWei. She speaks Mandarin, Cantonese, English, and some Japanese.

  • wooooooooah! retro!!!

  • anyone knows what happen at the opening of this clip. Faye was all shook up at the first two lines of the song. So cute....!

  • i find that this is better then the original version

  • There should be a law against Wong Faye having short hair. She is gorgeous with long hair, but with short hair, not so much. Everyone says that my wife looks like Wong Faye; I also wish there was a law against her having short hair.

  • I heard there is a current tour of Faye Wong - can anybody please tell me where to get the tour dates, please? Thank you :)

  • @greendaycranberryfan yes, she's still touring china and asia, i went to her HK concert in March it was perfect,

  • The people trashing her are ridiculous. I'm a fan of Blondie's as well as Faye, and I think she did a GOOD job. Of course it won't be as good as the original. But I bet you all the money in the world that if Deborah Harry had to cover one of Faye Wong's songs, like let's say "I'm Willing" - THAT would be an epic fail. (For those of you who don't know Faye Wong, just look up "Faye Wong I'm Willing" and see if any American singer can pull that off).

  • @TimTimato, you're really discounting Debbie Harry here. She isn't any ordinary western singer. Listen to her in "Shayla", "Union City Blues", "Atomic" & tell me that those vocals aren't divine.

  • @kngrtk I'm a Debbie Harry fan too, but my point is when these artists are known for certain songs, covers are usually not as good as the original. All I'm saying is that although Faye Wong can't sing this as well as Harry, the reverse would apply too. Have you heard "I'm Willing" by Faye Wong? Debbie is a great singer but her vocals would not match Faye's for that particular song (as well as many of Faye's other songs).

  • @TimTimato 'Heart of Glass' doesn't depict all of Deb's vocal ranges. I'd heard "I'm Willing" and I think the only reason why DH can't cover it is because she isn't fluent in Chinese and thus, won't know how to sing the song with the correct intonations & linguistic emphasis. I think you may be referring more to Linda Ronstadt, who despite being a great singer, has a niche in R&B and can't cover intra-genres like Ms Harry. If DH studied Chinese for a few yrs, who knows, perhaps a virtuoso?

  • @kngrtk I know "Heart of Glass" doesn't depict her vocal range, but I'm quite familiar with her work as well as her live performances and I don't think that even at her peak she her voice could go as high or be as clear as Faye's. Faye has a very distinct voice quality that other Asian singers cannot come close to. Also, they both have their own style that is extremely difficult to replicate. I mean, I can easily say that Faye Wong could never sing "Call Me" - it would be a disastrous joke.

  • @TimTimato Fair enough, I guess we're at a stand still since I don't believe most western singers can match Ms Harry either.

  • @TimTimato I guess to prove my virtuoso theory, DH would have needed to study Mandarin & Cantonese for 6+ years, get the vib for how the words convey their respective emotions. Then get into her zone and go for it. I suspect that she'd do really well and probably even blow away many HK listeners since she's a quantum level above her peers like P Benatar, L Ronstadt, S Nicks, K Carnes, & JJett. And on the flipside, she could also try some metal and perhaps give Ozzy & Dio a run for their money.

  • @kngrtk Not only is Deb better than her peers but compared to "stars" today, she's beyond legendary. You said she's better than Stevie Nicks, which she is, but even Stevie Nicks was WAY better than the kids today. She sang with fuckin' passion. Did you hear Lindsay Lohan try to cover Edge of Seventeen at the AMAs? (2005). Well, there are some stars today who are talented (Leona Lewis), but still sound stale like a studio product. And then there are others like Rihanna who just suck.

  • @TimTimato Being made to listen to Lohan should be a war crime. As for DH, well, I guess the US is suffering, since there's no one quite like her today. As for the staid studio product, I concur, that's the bane of today's times.

It's good to hear that Deb's generally appreciated. I believe there's also a Korean re-mix of 'Maria' which was quite popular in Asia.

  • @TimTimato Yes there is a blonde girl that sings better than Faye Wong.

  • Comment removed

  • Jezz Chris! I did not know who da hell she was until my Chinese friend told me she was a Queen of Pop singer in Asia...lol oh plz dun blame me! sincerely, I love her voice...Cheers, Best cover of Heart of Glass, most greatful as Blondie...

  • faye,u are the best!!!

  • Wow. Simply superb. This from a fan of Blondie AND Faye.

  • As with 99.9% of covers, the original is better. BUT this is very good! And to comment on another post, her English is good. Better then my Mandarin.

  • She sings so well! Just love her!!!

  • @JrockOtakuOnna

She's also a terrific actress. See, as examples, "Chunking Express," and "2046".

  • awesome

  • I prefer Faye's version than blondie's.

the asian best singer: Faye wong...

I wil always love you faye wong

  • great voice, but lose the clown make-up!

  • great voice, but get rid of the clown make-up!

  • @The3rdHiltonSister wow wow beauty is in the eye of the beholder . . . in fact I am ALMOST exclusively attracted to asians . . . and no I'm not also asian

  • @The3rdHiltonSister ..said the 3rd hilton sister with face distortion and a bad case of heavy breathing because of her massive lard build-up.

  • @The3rdHiltonSister Your the most ignorant person. You wish you were the 3rd hilton sister. Um I can speak english just as good if lot even better than you can. Let's see you try to speak a different language. You'd probably suck yourself. and you probably couldn't speak a different language.

  • I wanna fuck her

  • Great song, beatiful vocal n the everlasting diva!!!

  • Umm... Best singer in china?

  • correction.. in the WORLD..lol

  • bellissima cover ,complimenti!!

  • As for the rude "Dude" comment, Debbie Harry's voice DOES have a cry and lament in "Heart of Glass", which gave it that melancholy beauty... Faye carries that same feeling into her version. FEW covers of this song ever come close to the dramatic sweeping vocals that Debbie Harry created. And as for "Dude"... anybody that starts off with "Dude" to discredit a review says all I need to hear.

  • Amazing, with the total of 268 comments. I mean none of her video clip can hit such records lol... Thanks for all the good & bad comments. Thanks for watching too (^^) Faye Wong is the best, jia you, wan sui!!!

  • damn..these chinese girls are so delicate...i wish european girls to be the same

  • Indeed...that's why i want to marry a chinese or japanese woman -.-.

  • I love the way she dance~~so pretty~~

  • I've always liked Faye... this is the first time I'm seeing this clip & I totally love it. not many ppl can carry off this strangely attractive look :) kudos

  • dam, now I want some egg rolls

  • Faye's vocals carry the same cry and melancholy of Debbie Harry's original take. This is gorgeous.

  • She's a great singer!

I only know her before from her movies, now i know that she's not only a good actress but also a good singer...

  • who wrote the song???

  • blondie

  • She is wonderful!

  • Great cover, angelic singing! Wow! Thank you for this video.

  • 好棒!!!

  • 唱的好!

  • Tres amusant, sympatique et beau

    thanks for the video !

  • Best cover of this song I've heard.

  • i agree.

  • @FriendofVestal YOUR FUCKING KIDDING RIGHT

  • awsome cover. shake off them haters.

  • Ichiban !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Very cool.

  • faye

  • She is HOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

  • yeah yeah....sing great

  • very cool,very good song.

  • "La repera limonera"

Buenisima interpretación...Seguro que Blondie te da al igual que yo 5*****

  • faye the best

  • the best ver 4me

  • billy mackenzie has the best version of heart of glass

  • you should listen to eyes on me, then

  • I already listened that song for some hundreds of times, but I still think her English is bad though She can sing Eyes On Me perfectly by mimicking the pronunciation.

BTW: I love Faye Wong too.

  • buddy, her mother tongue is chinese, it is not english. so even her english is not so good, she is making a great effort to prononce and she is just doing fine for a pop singer which english is not her language. Most of pop singer who are not english have accent when they sing in english, it is normal. You are great Faye.

  • Her English is excellent. An ESL should be so good at speaking Chinese.

    And she's delightful.

  • this version i find is better then the original would love to see her in concert too

  • Very good, but nothing is better than the original of course.

  • Amazing voice...

  • *****

  • nice voice!

  • That's the words, and it's "hilarious."

  • it is "mucho mistrust, loves gone behind"

mucho mistrust is the words used in the original song by Blondie so they are correct here.

  • She should sing this in Cantonese

  • not a bad cover. the lightshow is really good. the crowd sucked. they sat down the entire time.

  • what are you talking about? almost every musician covers other songs. so i guess metallica sucks because they have several cover songs of Misfits...well, actually that is a bad analogy since metalllica doe suck. lol. anyway, you are giving a very bad example of chinese pirating.

  • i love her singing in Chinese, but Deborah Harry she ain't!!

  • Thanks be to GOD. Deb is 40 pounds overweight but Faye rocks on!!!

Deb I loved back when...but Faye is the best

  • Deb lost weight is is looking better. At her peak, there was no woman prettier than Debbie Harry. None.

  • 太棒了!

  • great faye wong vid. obviously someone posting is still mad he never got to work with faye during her HUGE career and calling it the far east is so parochial. grow up,

    love the vid!

  • Coming from a huge Blondie fanatic, I have you say that Faye did the song justice and then some! Love it! :D

  • I expect she can return to the stage soon, even she doesnt have new songs with her, just sing something. big fan. she is still young her voice is still attractive. its huge lost for all chinese if she doesnt sing anymore. she can run her family and career together. also, fans and medias should give her some rooms, whitch will help she to return.

  • Damn, this woman is attractive.

  • i like her dancing. It is really cute.

  • what are you trying to say?

who cares what you think. Faye is a goddess

  • Chinese chicks rule!

  • is not so bad o.o

  • she is great. Not easy for Chinese to sing English.

  • 王菲是太好了.我愛也blondie....

  • what's with the make-up.. ahahaha!

  • Her voice goes into my spine and I get chills :) Maybe best singer in whole world? 5 stars of course! Thanks for sharing!

  • I love Blondie ! Tis représentation is not good

  • cool, but never like Blondie

  • faye has original/her own music, and fake brands? what brand name is not fake? even here. they're all made up and we still pay a whole lot of money to buy it

  • okay so I agree with you this isn't her best song but have you even listened to her other songs that aren't covers before saying that she's not original? She made so much different music. As for brand names, then you agree with me it's not just limited to the far east. And I don't think I was exactly singing praises to brand names either so don't get defensive.

  • who doesn't learn from the environment since the beginning of his life? Indeed it's a good thing to learn from others. We allow ourselves influenced by others. But everyone receives a different concoction of influences. that's why everyone is unique. so stop the injuries which are but ignorant stupidity.

  • I dont understand why u said "many talent musicians in the far east but what is lacking is originality"...How much do you really know about asian music? pls go to find out more real songs created by asians to listen to before making your superficial and stupid comments...

  • i personally listen to both western and asian pop music and i happen to find a lot of original music in asia that cannot be found in the west - and mind you, the asian pop market is huge...

  • If you're a bigshot what hell are you doing here give your opinion on a message board for a site devoted to posting vlogs and jack assery. Me thinks you are lying.

  • am sure you treat your wife like a pussy lol

  • and i'd say you be worse than those oh so horrible fans...

  • faye's fans are rude and no quality? you are the one who'd physically abuse your wife! You are simply too barbaric and ungracious to appreciate faye's music.

P.S. are you a girl? caz you type like one.

  • What'd xxxx did you say?

Get your ass back to the restroom.Right now!

Sorry guys, i won't let my son misbehave again.

  • u r right.

  • dude, that is call "COVER"!

  • very nice!!!

  • faye, you're great!!

  • okay, this chica kinda flips me out a little bit, but she has a nice voice...at least she looks pretty happy up there singing..however, her sweater-Bjork swan...thing...wasn't too hot.

  • She's Chinese, and she sing this english song very well!!!

  • it's cool!

  • 难得见到王菲蚱蚱跳,好生猛

  • come on guys, although her live version doesn't seemed to be as good as original version, but if you compare this live show with Debbie's live version, this is much better! =)

  • I like her version BECAUSE she has a very different voice than Debbie Harry. I mean, I love the original, but people need to stop talking shit just because it's not exactly the same as Blondie's version.

  • I suppose if Chinese pop singers could make it to the rock hall of fame, she'd be the first one in.

  • she sings it better live than debbie harry

  • are you okay? I'm agree Debbie is good, but I'm totally disagree that fays is far from Debie!!!

  • what the...

  • You idiot western people!!

Come and sing Chinese songs and I can hear

how worst Chinese pronunciation you sang

  • Seriously, and besides when she's not singing high notes/going for a vibrato her pronunciation's damn near perfect. Which means it's her singing style that's hard to understand, rather than her English.

Though honestly I think the problem most people have is that she's not Blondie.

  • FAYE IS WAY BETTER SORRY

  • I wish I could find an asian girl. :/

  • well, she is not blonde but it doesn't mean she couldn't sing better:)

  • Miss faye so much! really wish she will return one day!

  • I like the original, so as Faye Wong's

  • Heart of Glass is the meat and Faye Wong is the butcher.

  • No I didn't know who Faye Wong was until I heard this song. Apparently she' Chinese and pretty popular amongst Chinese. I think we just have different opinions and taste in music. I listened to some other songs she sang and just don't feel that she has what it takes to measure up to the original artists. It's not just about how pretty it sounds when someone sings but it's about their ability to penetrate into your soul/into your bones then wrap you around with their music helplessly.
