  • lol i like the intro!

  • Yup, this guy is right.

you need to have shares of both inductive and deductive reasoning (this is the world of logic, took a course on logic) to have the best of fluency and academia. I learned this from my experience in learning other langauges and taking classes.

    -Linguistics minor.

  • it's very useful .thanks for ur kind sharing.. i will try my best to learn enlish. hope can speak very fluent enlish soon

  • Interesting video. In my view, the best appoach is mostly using inductive approach (like kids), and then you can "tune" the language with some deductive approach (grammar and so on).

  • I'm trying to better my french, which I have taken in school, but it's mostly only been deductive learning. I am also attempting spanish, which I am even worse at, however, I do understand it a bit better than I can speak it. There are a few other languages I would like to learn also, including italian, german, and maybe dutch.

But it is sometimes difficult for me to practice since I don't have many people to practice with. I also get blocks when I do practice, since I don't know enough.

  • Is English your mother tongue?

  • Yes I only spoke English till I was 18,then I started learning other languages.

  • Hi very useful all your videos!!! i live in Brasilia ,Brazil and i am learning english .,the only problem i have is that sometimes i don't understand when english native speakers talk to me very fast...but i think i am improving.See you later.

  • @MagicMaximo what languages do you know

  • @mystiquemusique I have studied so many languages, but I feel the most comfortable speaking English, Spanish, Tagalog and Vietnamese.

  • Yeah, that's a good one. If you make a mistake, so what..someone will correct you. Thanks for sharing.

  • An inductive learning experience of my French coworker in the U.S.: As people were leaving the office on Friday afternoon, several of them said "TGIF!" The following Monday he said "TGIF" to them as he left. Someone explained to him what the letters stood for. In my current French speaking environment, I should be more willing to take risks like that.

  • Thanks for sharing. I agree with you: it's intersting to learn a new language but it could be hard, sometimes. I'm here trying to emprove my english and after so many years at school on books, I find on Youtube my opportunity: INDUCTIVE learning...with your videos too! =)

  • Thanks, WoodGirl! Keep learning!
