See the comments below. You can prepare for the IELTS without paying crazy money for courses. (1) Find out about the test format on-line, (2) Familiarize yourself with the tasks and how you will be assessed, (3) Develop your skills and vocabulary on topics likely to be in the test, (4) Practice and get feedback on your performance, and try to improve on areas of weakness. It's not magic, it's not easy, but it doesn't have to cost a bomb!
Hey I got 7, all i did was followed your videos, your book, a few other free online courses and self study. It actually worked! It was my first attempt and I was scared! But your suggestions helped me a lot
This is an amazing book that I would personally reccomend for students appearing for IELTS exam. It is written perfectly and above all.. it is free. i downloaded the book and printed it. it is awesome! thank you voxguru!
Thank you thank you thank you very much kind sir. You are good man. You're videos have been very helpful indeed. I have got 8 in my IELTS with your help. I intend to go above that
IELTS is probably more popular because it is rigorously standardised. I know because I'm an examiner. And, it's really up to universities and governments to decide on the English tests they prefer, and the IELTS syndicate have pretty much cornered the market. I'd have to say it's a pretty fair test...
That's a good question. The IELTS has the backing of some very big organisations - the British Council, Cambridge and the IDP, so it's been promoted by these organisations, and many professional organisations that accredit trainees recognise the IELTS. It's pretty much become a global English entrance exam for university, professional accreditation and migration purposes (for the ES countries).
