Of course , "It's Late " is'nt a Country song , but Ricky Nelson was influenced by Country early on , before he went on to become one of the first "Country Rock" artists. No Country , no Rockabilly. It's not Rocket Science. It IS Rocket Fuel ! Michael Nesmith even said Rick was doing Country Rock before he was . I'd say Nelson , Nesmith , Parsons ,The Grape and a handful of others are responsible for starting it. Nice performance , but , I'd like to see more.

Weird, but I'd heard a Rick Nelson influence on songs like Fall On You and Goin' On Down to Texas. He still sounds great.

If you buy Peter's live CD on the German TAXIM label you will be treated to plenty of his more contemporary compositions, including Moby Grape tracks, but you also hear him doing some Rick Nelson material, clearly out of love for that music.

"Old country tunes"??? Good grief man, that is a Ricky Nelson tune! Nothing to do with "country", but rather part of the foundations of late '50s rock and roll, part of Peter's heritage -- and anyone else who grew up in that time watching the Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet on TV.
