It was sad to see KITT so messed up but you knew he would be repaired. It was much worse when I finally relized I was looking at him at Disney MGM. He lost all his shine, windows covered in dust. Rust in some spots and weeds growing up around him. It took me 2 full minutes to recognize him. It was terrible to see such an icon in that state.

And KITT gets dumped into it. I'm thinking, "DRIVE AWAY, IDIOT!" but then they wouldn't have had any show, so...whatever XD

This was the one and only time that KITT was destroyed and rebuilt in an episode that was not a season opener.

Mind you, word is, that if they had been renewed for a 5th season, KITT would have been rebuilt again (possibly removing SPM, we could only hope) and would have faced KARR once more after KARR would have killed Bonnie.

That would have been interesting as a season opener.

I hate to say this, but I found a little mistake from this video. The Junkyard Dog episode was played at the third season, right? Then I'm only wondering: why the season two dashboard was installed in KITT at 2:20?

Interesting observation. I hadn't noticed that before. With the exception of the T2 graphics all Knight Rider Footage did come from the episode junkyard dog. It's the time I am aware of that KITT is shown in white. The only answer I can come up with is that they had used a dashboard (Or Car) from the second season for that scene and figured with such a quick shot no one would notice.

Also at the beginning of episode "Knight Of The Drones" season 3, as K.I.T.T. moves just passed the camera, you can see the redesigned dashboard...o.k...before K.I.T.T. was blown away from the missles? Obviously the director didn't think all of us Knightrider fans would notice the discrepencies.

it was probably cheeper to sink and raise a scaled down version of the car than to sink and raise a full scale car.

I was refering to the initial sinking.The later scene was probable done by rolling the shell backwards into the muck and then pulling it back out. where as the first sinking would have involved sinking the car raising it, cleaning it up, and then resink it for another shot at a different angle or if the first shot was no good. If you are doing this with a full size car 15-20 times it becomes expensive.

Ah, I see what you mean now, yes the model was the better option for that reason.

Also, the muck was too thick to have the real car sink quickly like the model did. The effect was better with the model, nose up and KITT's scanner being the last thing you see before he goes under :-(
