And yes, many shark species are going in that direction as well. Japan is not alone, but they were the most proficient in their poaching, which puts them at the top of the list. And let’s not forget, they were taking advantage of a law put in place for scientific research, and failed to show any data that called for killing whales on mass.

In other oceans, they might have simply "below average numbers", either way they are not thriving, and keep in mind, Mike Whales are not the only whale being hunted, let only the only species being driven to extinction by over fishing.
