@Francisah SImilar to track length: Godspeed You! Black Emperor, MONO, The Evpatoria Report (a few songs). If you want any kind of bands that are similar, despite the track length there are so, so many to choose from that I could fill up three comments. Here are my favourites: Caspian, Do Make Say Think, Kepzelt Varos, The Non, EXIT Project, Lights Out Asia, Callisto, Rosetta, Exxasens, If These Trees Could Talk, God Is An Astronaut, Hua Lun, Misuse, Upcdowncleftcrightcabc+start, and many more..
@BossHossV8Cycles - Wow. Thank-you for that! I will definitely check them all out! I appreciate it! Feel free to tell me some more, if it's not too much hassle : )
@Francisah Sure! I'll let you check those out before tossing a bunch more, though. I don't want to overwhelm too much. These are enough to last you for a while. You'll get hooked on some of the really intense ones like Caspian, Callisto, and MONO. Just hit me up whenever you're ready for some more. By the way, one thing I probably should've mentioned was that Callisto and Rosetta are much heavier. They're both similar to the more popular ISIS and Pelican.
@BossHossV8Cycles Honestly speaking, the only band that is similar to Yndi Halda is GY!BE and let's say Mooncake/If These Trees Could Talk if we're stretching it. Also, It's Natural to be Afraid by EITS sounds very much like this piece.
@bamb04 What has separated Yndi Halda from all the other post-rock I've heard is how each song progresses through three distinct acts. Some songs like Irepress' Diaspora and The Non' Pigeon Force, have such changes that brings you out of the previous arrangement into something drastically different. Then there's MONO and GY!BE that generally have a constant progression through entire songs with just subtle changes. But Yndi Halda is just different.
@bamb04 Also, ITTCT is amazing. I've been trying to get my hands on their self-titled album for a while, though. Mooncake is pretty amazing too. Russia seems to have a fairly decent post-rock scene and a number of Russian bands have a distinct sound to them that's unique to other nations. I think it's the usage of subtle echoes for ambiance. Белые Флаги Зажигайте Медленно and Последние Каникулы are two of my personal favourites.
@BossHossV8Cycles Thanks, I need to check those out; I can't believe I forgot to mention The Ascent of Everest, which has a similar progression to Yndi Halda. But yeah, you are right, Yndi Halda breaks the songs into acts more than others.
ahhh so great to hear post rock making a comeback. all the post rock bands i've heard for a while are just pretty noisy and less emotional, this stuff is great!
I find really amazing how they convert what could be a military march done by the drums (from 5:15 ) into an incredible moving and touching thing thanks to the violins....

Beautiful song.
The opening chords seem to have been inspired by Metallica`s "Nothing else matters" and Zbigniew Preisner`s compositions.

Look for post rock bands... something like "Godspeed you! Black Emperor"

@Francisah (The) Slowest Runner (In All The World) is similar to Yndi, they classify themselves as post-baroque. It truly is good stuff.

@SunXieMei - I'm listening to The Flophouse Sessions! I really like it! Very similar to Yndi, which is great! Thanks for telling me about them! : )
