@thedeadhalo No the BEST! 'cause you don't get scared, LoL... But I gotta admit that I scrolled the page down when I saw it. Not because I got scared. Because it was SO annyoing. Flashing and yuk sound <.<'
@ThePyrothehedgehog It is a popular misbelief. The CPU of the Atari 2600 IS 8-bit, in fact, it is a cost-reduced version of the 6502, the same CPU used in the NES. What makes a big difference is the amount of RAM, cartridge ROM, and the capabilities of the Sound- and Videochips.
@1xWertzui Oh, I always thought that the more bits you had, the better the capabilities of the sound/video chips, pretty much because I was told by my dad that 1 part of the bits are sound and the other graphics, so I was thinking that it looking like that, it wouuld be 4 bit, 2 graphic + 2 sound, or 1+3, and so on. I didn't really mean that...I just didn't know.
@rudiangath ...I wouldn't be too suprised, really, since the intellivision had better graphics than the atari, it would make sense...but before I found out what you told me about the Atari being 8-bit, I would be typing in caps telling you that you were lying
@ThePyrothehedgehog But the Intellivisions graphics are only slightly better than the 2600s.
Much better graphics than the Intellivisions is on the ColecoVision, NES, Atari 5200, Atari 7800, Sega Master System, and they all have a 8-bit CPU.
Try compare the graphics of the 16-bit Intellivision to the 8-bit PC Engine (TurboGrafx), and you'll see why the "bits" of the CPU doesn't make all the graphics ;-)
1. Just scroll down and read the comment section where it is already discussed.
2. 1977's (chopped down to be affordable) technology VS 1983/85's affordable technology. The sucessor of the Atari 2600, the 5200 around 1982 commercially failed because of few but mayor annoyances, so Atari went back to further support the sucsessful but obsolete 2600.
3. Atari 2600 refers to the 8-bit console while the term "Atari 8-bit" refers to the 8-bit computer line (Atari 800).

@1xWertzui 8-bit? Atari 2600 was lower than that! I'd say 4-bit.

@ThePyrothehedgehog No problem. This is because of marketing, I guess (16-bit Genesis vs 8-bit NES commercials)
