  • This would make excellent silent film music!

  • ROLLLLLLL BUILDUPPPPPPP!!!! :P :P :P

  • @AAErikCO that's part of the charm (?) XD

  • @autopiano

:D J. Russel Robinson was known to rush the tempo lawl

  • That was grand going two play that somday.

  • Haha, that was great!

  • What a delightful tune!

  • nice recording!

  • You need to post more videos of song on this piano. It has a perfect sound!!!

  • howoldisthatpiano/

  • The piano dates from the early 1970s, but the roll was recorded by Robinson in 1920, I believe

  • That is so cool! That tune is Awesome!

  • awesome

  • That is very nice!

  • anyone need the sheet music? I can write it!

    ;)

  • could i get the sheet music please

  • OK, first google "levy sheet music". Under the first hit that comes up, click "search the collection". In the first text box, enter "my little bimbo". Hit "enter". BOOM! You have a PDF you can download and then rename as you see fit, and also images of the score.

This is the ORIGINAL published sheet music, not some hack rip-off I saw on a "folk songs" website which claims it is "traditional" and then gets both the melody and the chords wrong! As you can see, this is a Walter Donaldson song.

  • Sign me up for a copy of the sheet music!!!!

  • nice to hear a player piano in tune for a change! thanks for posting.

  • The tune was composed by Walter Donaldson. The same man responsible for Yes Sir, That's My Baby, My Buddy and Makin' Whoopee in addition to many other hits. J. Russel was the pianist of the Original Dixieland Jazz Band and composed the big hit Margie. He also worked as office manager for W.C. Handy's music company. Handy called him "The white boy that plays with colored fingers."

  • Lovely period piece by a key player.

  • I have a recording of this with words - must have been popular in its day. For dancing full orchrstra & vocal.

  • Thats so cool!

  • Love that tune!

  • Nice rendition of one of my favorite songs! J. Russel was a swinging pianist, but even more important; I like his special inner lines and wonderful embellishment figures, which I feel are the key to a sucessful roll arrangment.
