Bernie rested this game because in game 6 nobody, including Kate Smith (wink), could have put a goal past him. One of the outstanding netminding performances (game 6) of the 70's, Parent was always worth the price of admission. Like Orr, it was a sad day for The NHL when a stray stick in the eye ended the glorious career of one of the best goaltenders of the goalden age of hockey (only Dryden was better in my book).
The 1974 Finals were the first time WSBK ever shot a Boston Bruins' home game with more than three cameras and multiple replay angles.
I believe there were four cameras (three along the width of the rink on the edge of the first balcony, and a high-level end camera), but that's because the video feed also went to Canada's CBC, and the CBC demanded four cameras and two replay angles, since that's how they did "Hockey Night In Canada" then.
By contrast, NBC used 14 cameras for the 2011 Finals.
This was Game 5 of the 1974 Stanley Cup finals in which the Bruins were facing elimination being down 3 games to 1 to the hated Flyers , the Bruins went on to win the game and all the fights 5 to 1.

Good ol TV-38 in black and white where a kid could watch the three Stooges and the big bad Bruins with a wire antenna ! it was one of only 6 stations you could get back then VHF Channels 2 PBS ,4 NBC,5 ABC, 7 CBS , and UHF channels 38 & 56. Great to see the Bruins win the Cup Again !
