  • I'm on a whiskey diet, last week I lost three days :-) Just Like That :-) RIP Tommy

  • The world turned around and left them behind.

  • I'm American and Tommy Cooper is the funniest comedian I've ever seen. I'm sick of all these people on YouTube finding it necessary to "explain" Tommy's comedy. If you get it, you get it. If you don't, there's no reason to explain it because you probably won't find it funny. Rest in peace, Tommy. We all miss you.

  • a genius from a distant time when the world really seemed to exist

  • This is probably the only time you'll see the host become part of the audience!

  • zomg snow

  • What made Tommy Cooper so brilliant and unique was that he wasn't a ordinary bloke telling funny jokes, he was a funny man telling ordinary jokes

  • Embarrassingly unfunny stuff.

  • @dilwich123 : You poor little sod. I wonder what you do find funny. Custard pies in the face?

  • @Gruntol5 I would find it funny seeing you getting gang raped with a fez on and a pair of clowns shoes on.

  • @dilwich123 : Strongly suggest you seek psychiatric help buddy-boy.

  • @Gruntol5 Funny you should say that as i do see a Psychiatrist but doest agree with you he thinks im quite amusing......Have a great day my friend :) Much love.

  • @dilwich123 : You need to go back to school for at least 5 more years to learn to read and write.

  • @Gruntol5 Thats not very nice is it? I am trying my best Sir.

  • richardelden,your the unfunny cnt

  • I'd rate Ken Dodd as almost being Tommy's equal in funniness..so glad we still have Ken..

  • @TheDiddlysquat

He did fight in world war 2 you know... probably suffered from Post-traumatic stress disorder...

  • Parkinson is a self loving dick who was a weak interviewer

  • @feckyoo2 He had Jade Goody bang to right though.

  • So much of the BBC interviews were done real drunk...Parkinson's had a few here, Big Tommy (R.I.P.) loved his booze...Roger Mellie...the list goes on...

  • @ucla4eva lol roger mellie best of Viz

  • Have to disagree with the comment that Tommy Cooper was probably one of the greatest comics.. he just was THE FUNNIEST man who ever lived!! Used to come to Skeggy, my home town by the sea, and I remember he once popped in to our local, full of skinheads and punks.. and naturally just made us all laugh till we cried... there has been some great funny-men but he was THE MAN!!!

  • @TheDiddlysquat COCK

  • @indydaisy1 no it was directed atyou you ignorant cnt, catch cancer and die slowly you cocksmokeing twat.

  • Cor blimey! I've never seen Parky laugh so much in me life. Tommy seemed uncomfortable, he cannot carry an interview the way other British comics did like Howerd and Williams.

  • @RichardElden haha no thats you mate

  • @RichardElden He was showing all signs of feeling extremely nervous and uncomfortable in this video. That's why he's dodging the questions and trying to make jokes, he's petrified of being put on the spot about anything other than basically doing his job, taking the attention away from HIM and more to making people laugh. The sad thing is, most comedians like Tommy are suffering with severe depression and anxieties, did you realise that? Calling him names like you have is repulsive!

  • Tommy Cooper was amazing.

  • @RichardElden Stop trolling yourself.

  • I really dont think Tommy would of made it so Big these days with this sort of act.....I still cant watch him dying on stage without a chill running down my spine.

  • Controlled chaos, beautifully choreographed clumsiness, magic tricks that fail brilliantly, terrible jokes told in such a way that they're so funny it hurts... He's the only comedian I know who can make me cry with laughter just the way he walks on stage.

  • A little raw , I said Rarr !

  • Tommy cooper used the same routine on his live shows for decades, once he had something that worked he did it week in week out, month in month out, year after year.

You could see tommy live once and that was all he was

  • oh god 200 pound lol

  • He'd be great in court as a witness...., "get to the point"

  • i can c his shows on youtube over and over and it stays funny , been a huge fan of him even when he was still under us , its just the way he looks , and how he laughs at his own jokes , brilliant

  • @1johncain Quick question: You ever heard of slapstick comedy? You ever watched Charlie Chaplin? He could walk into a wall and the entire cinema would howl with laughter. Tommy Cooper is the modern day version. Not everything has to be an in depth commentary on society. He's loved by millions, & will be loved by millions more. How many love your stand up? Upload a video of you & lets see if you can do any better. Oh & did you know that most current comedians will reference Tommy as an influnce?

  • @1johncain You're probably a Dane Cook fan. It's not just a "sentimental attachment". He was, & remains, a comic genius. As you can see from the interview, he had the presenter in stiches as well as the audience. The British public doesn't tend to laugh unless it's actually funny. If we don't like it, we heckle and there is a wall of silence. This man could bring an audience to it's knees with laughter time and time again. He is a comedy legend. You don't get any better then him.

  • Only Tommy could come to an interview, use it as another performance and the audience not mind a jot. My love of comedy started with you Mr Cooper and long may your legacy remain. RIP you genius

  • Tommy Cooper was wonderful, to say that he and Franky Howard were just as funny is not fair to Tommy , he was the BEST and Franky , just GOOD. If you can read this (where ever you are ) Tommy, thanks for all the great laughts you give me.

  • He's pissed hear.

  • @1johncain and you probably fall around the floor laughing at 'Friends' right!?!?

  • This interview has got a touch of the Kaufmans about it. Its like the guy doesnt want you to have any insight to his personality...yet he's intent on making the interviewer uncomfortable

  • best comedian ever, love this clip.RIP tommy JUST LIKE THAT

  • I'm an Australian and find him hilarious. He's funnier doing his bad magician's act of course. As for the drunkenness, he pretending. He did like a drop but didn't perform hammered (like Dean Martin, who had tea in his scotch glass). MrGeorgeyS says it well: Cooper choreographed everything, and it's made to look bad.

  • I can imagine those short clips at the beginning wouldn't be funny to anyone who didn't know these comedians and their acts. We don't have to be condescending about it, though, do we????

  • R.I.P. Tommy Cooper What A Legend!!!!!!!!!!!!

He did look unwell in this video but still brill.

  • @1johncain funny just you who says that on here.. im sure your the the type who finds friends funny, or maybe you got no humour id say

  • To all americans and any one who doesn't get it. You have to understand Tommy cooper is probably one of the greatest comics ever to walk the earth. He knows his jokes are bad, and so does te audience. Its just his ability to make the delivery of the joke so funny by a hand action, or a movement or a stutter. He knew exactly what bit of chaos was going to come next, thoroughly rehearsed but seemlessly delivered. Genius.

  • @MrGeorgeyS lol 'to all americans' you're right there.

  • @1johncain you wouldn't know a joke if it bit you on the bollocks

  • Thanks for loading this up mate - good work

  • Tommy, for me the best ever!

  • So so funny. Love him. Just his mannerisms make me laugh, he doesnt even have to say anything.

  • The greatest - Ali, Dylan, Cooper.

  • Tommy Cooper - priceless humour. One of the funniest men ever.

  • Great Comedian and sadly missed. :(

  • parkie is litrally convulsing with laughter =)

  • this christmas i got a dvd about tommy cooper and it was helliarous

  • His wife started him drinking

  • I'm not joking.

My earphones r just fine, but when I try to listen to this by earphone, it doesn't work.

  • Tommy Cooper never married

  • @pingtran

Get your facts right. He got married in Cyprus - 1947.

  • Omg this guy is sooo funny, can't get enough of him !!!

  • I think he was drunk here. In the unedited version of this interview he screams at the audience "and you can all fuck yourselves!!!" and "fuck me, I said FUCK ME, you bitches!!!" before straightening up, smiling and carrying on.

  • @MrDarkbloom

I think that I would die happy if that were true...

  • @MrDarkbloom pretty safe to say he was drunk all the time dude

  • Tommy's personal life has nothing to do with him as a performer, as a standup he truly was one of the best of all time in British history! Yes he had faults in his personal life but anyone who says a bad word against him..what makes you think you are so perfect? He never claimed to be a saint, i remember him as an unbelievably talented comedian and i am proud to share the same 1st name as him!

    God Bless you Tommy Cooper!

  • Tommy Cooper was a nasty violent alcoholic WIFE BEATER!

That's right...He used to beat the shit out of his wife in front of his children when he was drunk!!

    Tommy Cooper = CUNT!

  • @matsui2001 Even if you are in posession of all these familiar facts, what good does it makes now?

  • @rollie57 I simply want people to know that the sun did NOT shine out of Tommy Cooper's arse. As some of the comment's on here would have us believe!

  • @matsui2001 Did you know him or his wife and children ??? i doubt it.

  • @doubts It is a well known fact!

Switch off your reality TV show and learn about the REAL World we live in.

  • @matsui2001 what other household items did he use to beat his wife with when he had a good drink in him?

  • @matsui2001 did he use one of his shoes to beat his wife ?

  • @007bondspy How the hell would I know that??????????

  • The reaction he gets out of Parkinson beginning at 5:02 was typical of the effect he had on people. He was a born natural clown and the world is a sadder place without him.

  • The funniest person who ever lived! Tommy's mind must have been streets ahead of whoever he was communicating with!

  • He's completely maggoted!

  • I think Tommy is pretty drunk here. Still love the man, though.

  • Tommy Cooper, Legend

  • why the fuck is the sound panned 100% to the right?

  • @spike4379 mono, before stereo.

  • @spike4379 I didnt notice acctually, probably because sometimes i go deaf in one ear and sometimes only have my headphones over one ear.

  • @spike4379 In them days it was all MONO

  • Does anyone ever remember Tommy walking on set with a saw through his head and saying "I've got a saw head" :D

  • @ski7878 Hilarious!!!!!!!!!! :D:D

  • put it down!!!!!. parkie is a money bag.

  • 2:46 XD

  • he absolutely kills it! timeless! rip tommy!

  • best funny person ever. Perfection, preparation, timing, it's just perfection, nothing less.

  • a true genius of comedy timming miss u tommy

  • My nan and my dad loved Tommy Cooper and I do also. Nice to see he can still fill all generations and make them laugh. shame he is gone, he still had so much more to give, he was very clever and witty and no comedian today seems to have that onstage pressence Cooper had

At 27 with me saying that just seems weird but its true :)

  • why is there no sound to this video ?

  • a comedy legend!!! total genius.

  • What a wonderful gift to leave the world after one's death - the gift of laughter!

  • Oh dear dear ; how funny is this ? That combination of Dopey grin alternating with look of Bewilderment and confusion !! Genius even if he 'd done nothing else in his act but those two expressions he would have had you in stitches throughout !! Lol

  • £200

  • RIP Tom,just to look at you made us all piss, our selves, with laughter,he was bonifide he did buger up the props but he was a member of the magic circle.

    God love Tom,miss you.

  • one of the best guys ever

  • Have this on DVD it's great!

  • Both great legends.

  • What a legend! He died on stage you know. R.I.P

  • the clip is on youtube

  • He was an amazing guy :)

  • A genuis. RIP Tommy. You were the best .

  • Yes, he was some kind of genius, born to bring laughter into our lives. I wish someone could put up the interview with Les Dawson in which Parky was speechless with laughter. Brilliant, both of them.

  • Brilliant unrehearsed improv. Tommy was a one off.

  • was he drunk?? Lollie - You should get out more often you clown

  • that was his style of comedy

  • whyyyyyy is the sound panned to the right????

  • whyyyyyy have you got only half a brain????

  • Have you heard of mono...?

  • just looking at him makes me laugh, his expressions. legend!!!!!

  • A true master at work. Michael Parkinson wasn't bad either. ;-)
