  • lmao at the girls screaming

  • they all run on the Shoreline East in Connecticut. Because Jodi Rell made a huge push to increase the Shoreline East service and make it a daily train

  • @MrZkr123

Yes indeed. She was the biggest proponent of needed infrastructure and transportation improvements in that state in the last 50 years.

  • HAHAHAHAHA the ladys scream. I cant even. I love this video.

  • Amtrak diesel on Metro North? WIN : )

  • wtf are you talking about. The harlem line is supposed to be the only line east of the hudson river that operates with no other rail road such as amtrak. Amtrak empire corridor operates along the hudson line, and amtrak nec(northeast regional) operates on the new haven line.

  • @malikrthr1

again WTF are you talking about?

Your responses don't make sense. Read them back yourself....

  • @malikrthr1 Dude before you go around telling people they're wrong you should do your research. The Amtrak locomotive was there because at the time Metro-North had a number of FL-9s and F10s that usually pulled the branchline trains that weren't working. So MN leased locomotives from Amtrak to run the branch line trains.

  • @Great0ne1

almost correct - the AMTK engines weren't leased to MN at all - they were leased to CDOT who contributed most of them to the MN pool.

  • @nhlives It's CTDOT or ConnDOT not CDOT.

  • @phoenix12349

Um......no.....its CDOT as well....While the REPORTING MARK is NOT CDOT the agency abbreviation CDOT is indeed acceptable. What would make you say its not? Before you answer, remember: Connecticut achieved statehood before California.

  • i believe i heard somewhere that trains that are third rail can travel in non eltetric are but only at a snails pace of 5 mph.

  • @malikrthr1

Huh? WTF are you talking about???

  • Has M7's ever been used for service to Wassic?

  • well, the M7A's (Metro North's version) are electric multiple unit cars - meaning they get their power for propulsion from the third rail. Since the Wassaic Branch (above CP-154) does not have third rail for the 28 mile run to CP-182 it would be pretty tough for the M7As to coast that far.

  • The engineer must have been like "ohh shit that guy has a camera! No cuttin corners here"

  • Wow!!! Amtrak on the Harlem branch!! I need to see more of these videos!!

  • Metro-North leased the P40DC. It's operated by Metro-North not Amtrak

  • lol

  • lol

  • That horn seemed to startle you a bit there, eh?

  • happens to everyone once in a while.....listen to the girlies on the platform scream!

  • impudiaik

    cool horn

  • Nah, I think he blew it for fun. Nice vid.

  • ? what's with all the short videos of buses and trains?

  • equipment limitations. But I thought you said size wasn't important anyway?

  • The engineer must sounds the horn before he pulls into the station. Chances are it wasn't inteded for one person.

  • did he blow the horn at you.

  • he blew the horn at the much larger than usual pack of passengers waiting on the platform north of my location.

  • Stupid question here what does leased mean?

  • A lease is a rental contract - a legal contract allowing somebody exclusive possession of another's property for a specific time in return for a payment. Amtrak Leased these engines to CDOT for service on Metro North and Shore Line East.
