@gopconservative78 but what good does a tax cut do for someone who has been out of work for several years now and isn't receiving any earned income? How will that person be able to access food with no money? A tax cut won't buy them food.

i applied and got denied! i made 2 much money! i made 200.00 over the monthly limit . they only go by your gross income and don't consider your payout of monthly bills. i would like to know how people are this benefit because i am working paycheck to paycheck!

Hunger in America is even a bigger problem in bad economic times when people are out of work longer then normal.

The Food Stamp program has been successful but it needs to be reformed to address the broader issues of Hunger in America. And to help people eligible for Food Stamps get better jobs so they no longer need it.

you negative commenters need to just stop! All we need to do is teach the underprivileged how to use a COUPON! You will get food and toiletries for pennies on the $1 or in some cases even FREE! Reduce your grocery bill in half or more!They need to start a "How to coupon class" @ all local welfare offices,it should be a must before you receive your monthly benefits!And no i'm not a welfare recipient thanks to the COUPON I live everyday in abundance and would love to pass on the knowledge!

If there was just one starving child in America CNN, ABC, NBC and CBS would be right there with cameras jammed in the face of the starving child waiting to broadcast the childs death on TV.

hmm... this as interesting, It definitely played on the emotional aspect, showing picture's of hungry kids made me a little teary eyed. But it failed to expose the negative aspects of food stamps.
