  • GREAT song & those PISTOL PACKIN MAMAS** are right on TARGET

  • The go go dancers are indeed astounding - would anyone happen to know if one of them was Dale Vann of the Gazzarri Dancers? Thanks

  • Bobby Fuller was a gambler and was suposedly dating a mafia,s figure daughter as well. The mafia figure did not like bobby fuller. if you look at thr facts of the "suicide" it seems a lot more like a muder made to look like a suicide.

  • @unknowable1968 I don't know about the "gambler" part, but I agree he was murdered and did not kill himself. I've read a lot about this case and it had to be a murder cover-up, for whatever reason.

  • @unknowable1968 he was not a gambler I don't know where you read that but it's not true.

  • Liars you are a total A HOLE

  • jewish record execs killed both Sam Cooke and Bobby Fuller for the insurance.

  • @OccupierLiars

Ditto waydcolt's sentiments. Liar you are one big AHOLE.

  • The Bobby Fuller Four originated out of El Paso, Tx. According to a former disc jockey, who did an in-depth study of the death of Bobby Fuller, showed that he was overcome by carbon monoxide poisoning from running his car in an enclosed parking garage in Hollywood. It was never proved to be suicide or, most likely, homicide as Bobby had many enemies in the music world.

  • Enjoy folks. You'll dig this too.

  • Over forty years later and this song still is cool. Sounds great while driving. Volume turned way up of course!

  • amazing this guy would kill himself, drinking gasoline no less , it appears he had everything going, i remember hearing that story on the steven clean show in 1976

on the original free form kroq in pasadena...

  • @5059505 He did not "drink gas" as originally reported. He was murdered.

  • @5059505 you seriously have to read up on how he actually died. He very obviously did not commit suicide and was murdered.

  • @koalacatcher

Obviously. It amazes me that no film has been made of Fuller's life and death or that the LAPD has by now not been forced to reopen the investigation. Strikes me of the power of the music industry in LA...and I am not inclined to conspiracy theories btw. I believe Oswald was the lone gunman. I also believe Fuller was murdered and the LAPD at the behest of the music industry/organized crime (same difference in the 1960s) covered it up

  • @LTF6161 I agree with you. At the time this was out there was a really strong feeling in my opinion that this song was considered a challenge to the authority of law enforcement and the circumstances of his death give me the creeps to this day. I was only 11 but I remember it like it was yesterday.

  • @LTF6161 there doesn't need to be a film to trash his legacy, which is what would most definitely would happen.

  • Really cool clip! Yeah, those dancers really spice things up, don't they? Back in '65 I played a club called Teen A-Go-Go hehe. We all drank Sloe Gin out of the trunk of my '51 Ford on break - lol. I think I paid more attention to the cute blonde cage dancer than my drums - haha. Regards, The '62 Mathew St. Band (1 Man-Full Group Retro)

  • Love those Gazzari dancers.

  • Real Go Go Dancers!

  • I gotta agree with tarn, they are georgous

  • See how easy it is for someone to be very sex appealing and still be fully clothed. Those girls prove it.

  • does anyone have any clips of Sam Riddle's shows, Ninth st. West, or Groovy? they were L.A. local teen dance shows in the mid sixties.

  • were not all dead kid LOL

  • The dancers are fantastic. But they are old now...or dead. The SONG lives on.

  • @Tarn1968

Check out the Gazzarri Dancers website for all the info on the gogo dancers.

  • Great song, great video! Ya gotta love the Gazzari Dancers and those hips!

  • Who is the brunette babe on the right at 0:34?

  • Whoa dudes one great song- BUT THE GO-GO GIRLS!!!!

My Uncle dated a Go-Go girl back in the 60's, I was a kid of 5 and thought she was the hottest.

  • Let Her Dance Was The Bobby Fuller Four 's First Hit.

The Song Guitar Wise Total Fender Stratocaster.

    Great Listing.

Bobby Left us Way too soon

  • Listen to Sam every day on KHJ. Great music

    with Bobby Fuller

  • That "hottie" could well be pushing 70 now...or at least a senior citizen.

  • LOL Now that was funny!

  • What no friggin' gangstas in those days?

  • Sharply dressed ones. Nobody would suspect them nowadays.

  • What An Absolutely Great Share ! Love It! 5*s Great Post ! Thankyou....Anita..

  • The days when the chrome was thick and the women were straight.....

  • And they didn't have to show a lot of skin to be sexy. Occasionally a navel or two would peek out -- check the blonde at around 0:25.

There's a website devoted to those lovely and energetic girls. Check out gazzarridancers-dot-com.

  • No one could put three chords together better than the Bobby Fuller Four. I still have their original vinyl album from 1966. The cover looks pretty bad, but the record sounds great. "If there's a rock 'n roll heaven, well, you know they've got a hell of a band." And, Bobby Fuller would definitely be there.

  • @Tarn1968: Oh yes. It is so true. What WAS IT about back then?! The chicks back then were just SO FRIGGIN' HOT! Classy is a word that comes to mind. Something that just seems to be taken for granted with today's gals. Classy bods, classy makeup, and classy hair styles, all which made them GORGEOUS. My mom was one of THOSE girls back then, all the guys in school wanted her. But about Mr. Fuller here, what can you say? The BF4 were one of the BEST back in '65/'66.

  • I remember this song being played on an episode of "Cheers"

  • occasionally the bass player lapses into, "i saw her standing there"... listen

  • Man Alive ... Bobby was light years ahead of his time!

    Bravo Bobby Fuller

  • this song has one of the tightest boogie baselines ever !!!

  • what a minute...i see cords in their guitars soo this is LIVE?

  • No way. They were miming to the record, just like all the music on teen dance shows was done back then. I'm not certain, but Hollywood a Go-Go's house band, the Sinners, may have played live.

  • @scotpens thanks for mentioning the Gazzarri Dancers website. Everything on Hollywood a Go-Go, including The Sinners, was lip-synched.

  • Yeah, that's what I figured. Those shows didn't have the time, the budget, or the technical facilities to set up and record live performances. Even on the prime-time variety shows like Ed Sullivan, pop music acts would often have only the lead singer performing live to a pre-recorded backing track.

Oh, the girls. GAZZARRI DANCERS RULE!!

  • These were real women dancers. Note how they really got into it and added to the music and musicians. God, I miss the 60's!

  • murder covered up by hollywood scum

  • and the LAPD

  • boobs...

  • The brunette babe in the far back is one shapely young lady!!

  • @JerryTheis

I agree but the brunette next to her really knows how to swing her hips

  • @JerryTheis

    Hey, she is mine! ;-)

  • Yes she is!!!!

  • Yes the brunette in the far back is rather shapely as well as the other brunettes. sigh!!!

  • if those shapely chicks had mini skirts they would be perfect

  • Cowgirls don't wear mini skirts.

  • alastaircrowlyridgegirl19,

yeah, why don't them girls wear skirts?

  • Pretty tough getting on a horse and riding it with a skirt on,that's why.

  • RIP Bob Keane.....he managed the Bobby Fuller Four. He was the founder of Del-Fi Records, and worked with Richie Valens, great surf bands like the Lively Ones, the Impacts, etc.....

"Breaking rocks in the hot sun". Picando piedras al rayo del sol (porque está preso).

"I fought the law and the law won". Combatí la ley y la ley ganó.

"I needed money cause I had none". Necesitaba plata porque no tenía nada.

"Robbing people with a six-gun". Asaltando gente con un arma casera.

  • PD: Six-gun es un revolver, no un arma casera.

  • A favorite since my teens--SO long ago!

  • absolutely one of the best classic rock and roll songs of all-time

  • Ok, enter----Apocalypse now- suzie q. click on that(playmates). enjoy.

  • If you want to see another hot clip of six-shootin gals, see the movie "Apocalypse Now". A Viet Nam era movie when the guys drop in on a USO show out in the bush. Man, these girls were so sexy. Even more so 'cause the guys rarely saw round eye women with t--s. The girls danced to the song "Suzie Q" by the group Creedence Clearwater Revival.

  • Yeah, once again, proof that all things go better with girls.

  • This is the best song with go-go dancers I've ever seen! I love the song, love Bobby Fuller but MAN, these go-go dancers with their 2 six shooters- that's the best choreography I've ever seen.

    LOVE THIS VIDEO!

    Hollywood a-go go rocks!

  • @BigfootSongs04 Check out Dee Dee Sharp's" Mashed Potato". Great dancing, maybe even the same girls

  • @BigfootSongs04 Check ou the Gazzarri Dancers website for all the info on the gogo dancers.

  • @BigfootSongs04 Google Gazzarri Dancers for info on the gogo girls

  • @herbajones thank you, herb! yes, I've checked out a website about them... great dance group. after seeing some other routines, I'm convince this was their best... maybe it's the song, too, but those outfits, six shooter and the choreography just all came together in this performance.

  • @BigfootSongs04 convinced

  • One of the best Rock n' Roll songs ever..

  • like slayer from their time =]

  • Unbeatable song and a dynamic performance. Yep, these go-go girlies are something else : great movement, which changes nicely as the rhythm changes.

The go-go girls on the Bobby Fuller Four clip of their tremendous Los Angeles hit, "Let Her Dance" are quite quite sensational too - the clip was from the TV show "Shivaree", and included their number, "Another Sad and Lonely Night " too. Alas, the clip has been pulled ! Please restore it ! !

  • matthatter i agree with you 100% this young man shouldnt had died. a tragedy a black eye in the world of rock. a film should had been made on him. great song and great man. im a doo wop/rocknroll historian. this song was a MEGAHIT. Bobby we will always love you. rest in peace gentle soul. TOMK

  • those have got to be the sexiest go go girls i have ever seen wow

  • you can read all about them if you google Gazzarri Dancers because we have set up a website about them

  • Ya think so, huh?

  • its a tragidy that he was murdered they probally would have had many good songs

  • Cold case files need to get involve in this.I would really like to know did this.WE all need closer in this...sry about my spelling duh!

  • It strikes me odd that Fuller's case hasn't been reopened or that his story hasn't been made into a film (I mean even Richie Valens got a movie for crying out loud). That this case has never been reopened is just very odd.

  • Whoever you are that murdered Bobby Fuller, you can run but you can't hide. You'll get your payment in full. God knows what you did. You've gotten away with your crime for 43 years but you won't forever. When you face God with what you did, it's gonna be a sad moment friend. Chances are you're already dead. And if you didn't repent bud, you're paying dearly. And that goes for everyone who was involved in Bobby's death and chose to keep their mouth shut.

  • maybe to you Joe Wannabe

  • to hauntedstudios-i just love all the oldies of the 50's 60's and 70's-do you have the whole series episodes from the tv show hollywood a- go go- i sure would enjoy seeing them-please respond

  • hey mate jim, im with you on this comment brother all the way, love to see as much as possible and these dancers are to die for, they sure shake up a storm mate ,, down under!!!!!!

  • I don't think anyone has all of them besides the owners now

  • No one at the TV studios thought these shows were worth saving, so the original tapes got wiped and re-used. Most of the surviving "Hollywood a Go-Go" shows here on YouTube are fuzzy kinescope film recordings.

  • In NYC, "Hollywood a Go Go" was aired on WPIX (Channel 11), Mondays at 7:30 PM in its early months beginning the spring of 1965, then moved to Fridays at 8:30 PM in the fall. 'PIX viewers doubtless would have seen this performance on that latter night and time.

  • I can't stop listening to this tune..........you just got'a love it! Get up and and do the dance.........!

  • It doesn't get any better than this!

  • Wow, there is really something sexy with those women when they dance :O

  • BritainsBestGuitar : Roger that. I stand corrected. I read what I wrote a couple of years ago and was going by memory.

  • Baytownbet2....not quite accurate. "I Fought the Law" hit it's highest chart position in February 1966. Bobby Fuller died July 18, 1966.

  • Look at all those 60's people dancing! What fun....that girl at 1:42 to 1:48 looks like Audrey Hepburn LOL

  • Bobby Fuller was from Baytown, Texas. He was killed in L.A. before this song climbed to the top of the charts.

  • how did that happen???

  • Ahh how fashions have come 360 degrees (the low cut on the Go-Go dancers) :)

  • Fantastic song and unbelievably sexy dancers!!! Thankyou HauntedStudioes for posting - top marks!

  • Indeed... But why is the girls so sexy? :O I don't get it! They're like the sexiest girls i ever seen, no kidding :D

  • Go Go dancers are pretty hot...

  • obviously they're not singing here but it sounds a little different than the recorded version...especially around 1:51 maybe just a different mix

  • usually they recorded themselves playing live in the tv studio a few days before and then played to that as a backing track.

  • I where would Bobby be today, if he had lived?

  • i was there

  • i love this song more than all day and all night this is on the game battle field vietnam i listen to it all the time this is such a good song nad i think bobby fuller was beaten to death by somebody with a gas can but his memory still lives on with all of his music that he had ever made rest in peace bobby fuller

  • I loved playing this flying in a UH1 Huey gunship.

  • love watching the kids dance starting at 1:37! Early vogueing!

whooooooaaaaahhhh! Love 60s girls with bangs!!!

  • haha, that dude is busting a move isn't he

  • ITS SIX GUN NOT ZIP GUN

  • Shake ya asses LOL

  • Oh, I love the song and the video, I was just responding to...hell, I don't even remember who/what I was responding to! I like The Clash, but their version sucked...Green Day's cover was worse...long live the '60's revolution!

  • Oh, I love the song & video and I wasn't even alive in the '60's. I was merely responding to...Hell, I don't even rememeber who/what I was responding to. Great song...I like the Clash, but theirversion wasn't that good...Green Day's cover was worse.

  • the clash did a terrible job on this song they were nothing more than a lot of lousy musicians that could not get it sounding good the studio.joe strummer was an idiotic drunk and all those X gen would not know hard core even if George Jones gave them the real deal headbut.

  • I didn't think punk was supposed to sound good.

  • The Clash are one of the best bands ever. London Calling (the album) is brilliant. And the Clash do a brilliant cover of this song, which I adore. But I think Bobby Fuller did it just a bit better. I doubt Mick Jones or Joe Strummer (RIP) would disagree with this sentiment.

  • There is also a cover by Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson of Rush who play in a band for the Trailer park boys video

  • to you morons who think a bunch of nothing more than95% love songs screwed UP THE MORALS OF AMERICA please explain

  • why don't you guys go rant somewhere else - this is a music video, not a referendum on the country's morals!

  • moorlock2003: Conservaturds? Is that a word? If you do the math (which I doubt you can), you'll realize I was born in the early '70's. But, I have enough smarts to know that the '60's baby boomers were the start of our society's morals going downhill. Go get an education and then think about it!

  • I think the '60's are what ruined our society. I love a lot of the music from that decade, but our society's ideals, morals, ideas, etc. changed and not for the better. All those '60's teenagers (my parents included) had kids who are raising the ill-mannered, self-centered kids of today (except for my kids...ha!).

  • You're right. Things really started heading south right about when this song came out. Late '66. But it really started going down when Kennedy got blown away late '63. That's when the CIA took over running the show (with disastrous results drugs, wars, etc.) And here we are: Isaiah 3-5 "And I will give children to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them. The child shall behave himself proudly against the ancient, And the people shall be oppressed. Children are their oppressors."

  • Just say NO to conservaturds such as yourself. Go back and live in the 1950s then.

  • Wow, you must really know a lot about everything. Not.

  • TV is still commercial & corny but the music stood apart. Marketing couldn't sell a bad song. It had a life of its own unlike the corporate & cosmetic slop served up today. This only looks like a lot of empty headed bimbosity & vigilante nonsense. But, now, that's all there is & tunes struggle to compete with the nothingness of Paris Hilton. This country's been on a cultural downslide for 25 years. I'm glad there's a YouTube to remind me of the possibilities & I hope, better times ahead.

  • I FOUGHT THE LAW AND THE LAW WON (so catchy!)

  • till this day they dont know who killed bobby fuller?

  • It has since been removed, but Wikipedia once referenced that BF's manager was involved with his death. His body was found in his car near his LA home w/multiple wounds and covered in gasoline. The LAPD tossed the gas can found in the car in the trash. Officially his death was listed as a suicide. It was believed that the police arrived before his body could be set on fire.

  • You have the general idea but not the real story. There is an interesting new book, Rock 'n' Roll Mustangs by Stephen McParland that is carefully researched, not just Internet gossip. It tells Bobby's story within the context of the El Paso and Hollywood music scenes of the Sixties that he was part of.

  • Timeless pop, ace live performance, good sound. And chicks wearing holsters. Life doesn't get any better than this.

  • Subtract one Cold War, and I'd agree with you :P

  • Those go-go dancers are gorgeous! Not like today's over hyped, airbrushed, neurotic, ill mannered kids that are pushed by the music industry now.

Ok so it wasn't perfect but times were better then....even allowing for rose tinted glasses:)

  • Hollywood a Go-Go featured the Gazzarri dancers from the famous Gazzarri's club on the Sunset Strip. They were the prettiest go-go girls on TV back then. Just think, they're all 60-year-old grannies now.

    Father Time is a bastard.

  • How fucking ahead of the time was this cat?

Got the girls dressed up to be bad asses but done in a tactful and sexy kind of way. That idea has been modified over the years with some atrocious results--namely by rappers and their stable of bitches and the like.

Many genres of music have their roots firmly entrenched in this type of music and more people should acknowledge that and embrace it.

  • Fuck whoever killed Bobby Fuller!!!

  • girls have their guns drawn...i'm dying!!

  • Music will never be as good as this ever again.

  • Really great stuff--those dancers with guns & holsters got it going---Bobby Fuller forever!!!

  • Ha ! Try this just 4 for fun

Open 'Greenday's- holiday' vid in different tab then wait for them to start playing the actual song then open tab with this video and start the vid but mute the sound. Pretty cool and looks like their playing greendays song and go-go girls dancing is even in sync.

Hey its late and 'm bored ...OK ???

  • Like this song...........AND the go go dancers.

  • it's a good job y/tube doesn't wear out like a 45 - i keep palying this clip - priceless!

  • While I love the Clash and Sonny Curtis, nothing touches the Bobby Fuller version. It epitomizes rock n roll at its finest.

  • Just had to reply, great comment - and I was born in1972 - 37 years young but born AFTER this came out.

  • Wow,the 60s! This is priceless!

  • 0:26 -- Belly button!

  • This clip is pure gold. Youtube is made for stuff like this!

  • God yeah. I cant stop watching it.

  • A treasure. Fine, fine, fine song

  • Of course, this is a great one,but give it a little rest;overplayed.

    Try "Let Her Dance" .

  • 100,000 views no doubt due to a great song and those fantastic Gazzarri Dancers - wow!

  • i'm so damn upset no one wil re-do this video with go-gos 'n all...i am going to work dressed as one of these go-gos, i am going to honor these go-gos ...wont you!

  • Heck- this already sounds like Buddy!

  • One of those Baddass rock songs that will never die. This is the best version in my opinion. These guys sang it like they meant it.
