The use of the treble voice is also reminiscent of Blake, who used treble solo in the song "Walking in the Air." The transitory nature of this vocal instrument is an apt pairing for a song about snow, another transitory entity. And the pleasure of her music is the pure aural pleasure of the notes as the ear experiences them. You may not get it, but there are intellective, aural and literary pleasures to be had in her music. Can't you just say" I don't get it" wish us well and be on your way?
not only do I love this music, I know exactly why I love it. Kate Bush and her music have been inspiring me for 25 years. I am not likely to change my listening habits because your ears aren't equipped to handle this. What the hell does "offtrack in the lyricism" mean? It's bogus criticism. Do you even know what lyricism is? This is clearly referencing Howard Blake's music for "The Snowman" and is one of the few, perhaps the only, mother/son collaboration I can think of.
@chiseidous your comments are off-color and off-base. I agree that you have a perfect right to dislike something. You have absolutely no right to insult my intelligence or preferences.
@bluejupiter100 quiet down flower child the song sucks ass and thts the bottom line. i can see what shes trying to say but she gets offtrack in the lyricism. honestly sit down and pull the shit that cam out of the speakers and flowed into your earholes and lissen to it one more time and then tell me you still like it. i dont know what type of sensual pleasure your getting with it but you dont have to tell everyone when u ejaculate to a song or have an orgasm just stop pleaze.
this is terrible and sucks so much ass thats what shes kissing in the video its a big ass! a big white ass! just look at the lyrics there horrible, ive never let so much crap flow into my ears before! craap literally came and squeezed through the speakers and traveled into my ears and it hurt!
"Snowflake" is a masterpiece...I am not surprised that there are those who find this song and her new album too "out there" for them...as is always the case with something so extraordinary.

Absolutely STUNNING on every level. Lush, evocative, emotional, and full of beautiful imagery. A perfect song.

Bertie's singing is amazing. How many songs outside of classical music do you know that feature a boy soprano?
