Both of the top comments are so true, it has to be one of the best puzzle-adventure games and it was a memorable part of my childhood. It's hard to believe that the game didn't sell more than 42,000 copies. I'm glad I have one of them.
sadly the era for making these kinds of games is over. that's not to say that there aren't great puzzle games still being developed, which there certainly are. it's just that you will never find an aesthetic and soundtrack as novel and outlandish as we've seen in the Neverhood.
Man... at 4:35 considering it's like a test run the room looks so different and makes me think about how a room or place would look in a new Neverhood. Makes me sad knowing there won't ever be one again :(
@spacemanlrs333 They WANTED to re-release it in a completely new, modern version with higher resolution for modern computers. Only one problem stood in the way: They have lost all the footage so there is nothing they can do. The film rolls are missing. :-(
Thank you so much for uploading this video! Just played and beat the game for the first time ever! Such a fascinating game NEEDS a mini documentary, thanks for supplying!
Well, Doug TenNapel has discussed the idea of making a movie based on the Neverhood world to a producer, and that has led him to get into contact with Frederator Films, a new company specializing in making animated feature films for under $20 million dollars, and this, if the sources are factual, would be their 2nd film to be released, the first one being a Samurai Jack feature film. Though none have been made so far, but 2010-11 sounds reasonable to expect a release.
...AND its a huge part of my SON's childhood! Theres a WHOLE NEW GENERATION of 8 yr old kids who love this game that they play it in the school yard!!
Great how if somethings worthwhile & good it has a longevity! :)
We want there to be a PROPER sequel to Klayman! Skull Monkeys was too platformy! We love 'free to roam' scenarios in this classic!
-Wish they made more! [8yr olds are hard to pls these days!! LOL]
I Freaking love you guys, you have good sense of humor and really can make something so simple in life and so little into something usefull .. Like clay xD;
Wonderful storyline.. Wonderful music.. this game rocks I give it four paws up

Can you imagine how long it must have taken to move the camera and spin it around while carefully timing the frames?

mytdog24 2 years ago
Because he "hates" Doug TenNapel, like he says. He did this again in the Boombots bonus video.

Can anyone know if there's a Neverhood 2 ?
tromppatrick 3 years ago
@tromppatrick: There's a Neverhood sequel called "Skull Monkeys", for PS1. It's quite rare to find a copy, however.
