all the new stuff and games may come out.... but nothing, nothing will ever beat N64, or ZELDA, controls were kind of shitty, graphics couldve been WAY better, but the good times spent on that thing are now priceless
It was from a great era in gaming. Ocarina of Time on the N64, Skies of Arcadia on the Dreamcast, Crono Cross on the Playstation, Panzer Dragoon Saga on the Saturn.....
To me, Zant was a perfect embodiment for a former "normal" person (in the sense of importance in the world, not sanity, obviously) who was brought into this battle of good and evil. However, he was misled into doing Ganon's bidding, then being tossed aside and left to die despite all he had done. That was beautiful irony.
And in Ocarina of Time, it's amazing how Ganondorf started out as a lowly thief, but under his quiet demeaner you can see a threat waiting to happen...and he sees it, too.
I love listening to this track and think of all the games and adventures featuring Link in this neverending battle between two out of three "chosen ones", and those who are sucked into it such as Saria, Zant, and Skull Kid, and having their lives either changed forever or ended. There's almost something...holy in this "Courage vs. Power"-war, and I always love to see the supporting characters get dragged into it and tosses aside while the two archenemies are left standing to kill one another.
@T4WN I really don't know, I just find it easier to play. I never really cared for the original. Better graphics, 3D effects and improved controls help a lot.
@residentevilkid01 Well it still is the same game. People argue alot about which one is the best, but I'll forever say OOT. The music, the first time riding Epona in a "seemed-to-be-"free world. Aaaahh the memories!
@Thopen I can understand why people would argue which is better, even though it's not been out for a week yet, but for me it's 3D, probably because I never had the same nostalgia for OoT as everyone else did, I had 5 N64 games at most, my family was very poor in those days. I only recently got it on the Gamecube with Wind Waker, and I really didn't care for it at all. But with OoT 3D I really can see why so many people love the game.

@luvwrapper They go to the various villages of Hyrule to have sex with males then go back to the Gerudo valley. When the child is born, it's almost always a female. Then as the Gerudo Legend goes a male is born to the Gerudo women every 100 years and he becomes the leader. As for replenishing the population then's it's possible that King does get a bunch of wifes as gets a bunch of daughters. And the cycle continues.....

Wow, screw you people, this medley is lovely, sure the N64 old version was lovely but this beats it. Just because the original is done in one particular instrument doesn't mean other versions have to be in the same instrument. This is lovely. *gives a thumbs up* Well done.
The instrumentation does matter, it contributes to the timbre of the piece. Using orchestra instruments gives a completely different feel. Fact is, spanish guitar would give the piece a more fitting feel. Of course, sitar or other middle-eastern instrument would be valid, and even more interesting than the original.
i like the look of the gerudos in the manga more than the game, in the game they're noses (all characters in general) have really insanely pointed noses
I almost forgot what good video game OST used to sound like. Songs like these are a masterpiece. Just listen to the brilliant composition and detail in the instrumentals. Sure, it may not take the most skilled composer to make a song like this, but it's not the difficulty of the piece, it's the tone, the mood, the FEEL of the song that puts us into the heart of the game and the song. Damn I miss good ol' VGOST's.
@Mikozee So very true. The 8-bit and 16-bit eras had the best music. Because they had to have powerful music to make the games that much more enjoyable. That is why those eras are my favorite. Not to mention they are actually challenging to get through.
:O I just figured this out. The Gerudo's in Gerudo Valley are were inspired by the Japanese Style of Ganguro (Black Face) They have the tan bodies with the white lipstick and eye shadow with black eye liner and fairly light colored hair [red/blond/white(platinum)]. Wow XD... That's amazing.
@Traviztumadre yeah they have some pretty remixes of songs. You should check out the artisst darangen on there. He made a remix of this with vocals added. If he had a better singing voice the song would be perfect. But its still a pretty catchy song
This song is beautiful when it's played both ways. The game version makes you want to take up flamenco and tango, and this orchestral version makes you think of a soundtrack for an action/adventure movie. I love it!
i think its fantastic that this was done for strings. Like, the original, obviously has a flavor to it- i mean, it was the original- but this is super cool, very beautiful <3
@verkja You "have not sense." It's an arrangement for a classical string orchestra. To leave the guitar in would not only take away from this variation of the piece, but it would alter it fundamentally. If you prefer the original version, that's perfectly fine, but the guitar is not an "obligation" simply because you would like it left in.
well.. I think you're right!! The theme is that beautiful because of that Spanish sound.. This one is beautiful too! But the original did something which this one doesn't...
i remember actually becoming sick because i had been trying to beat the water temple for so long. after all that i would take a nice relaxing break down at the fishing hole an try and catch that massive fish that no one ever saw. i still dont know if that shit was true. i can't believe it's been 12 years since i rep this

The guy who created the water temple must've been a secret genius lol. havin to lower or raise the water and then knowing what doors to go through and having enough keys and everything, it was ridiculous. i can't remember the biggest fish i ever caught but fishing was relaxing
I fooled around in Kakariko Village and played the horse racing game at Lon Lon Ranch until I felt that it was time to stop neglecting my duties. Oh, and I snuck into the Gerudo Fortress early. I was caught, but luckily I had the hookshot and ocarina songs...whew.
so you never caught the Hyrule Larch? I spend hours and hours trying to catch it :D but i caught it, and it was an endangered species :P lol, so the fisherman let it go.... i was kinda disappointed after hours and hours and hours, to be let go :l
@macallmighty uuuh, go to the lake hylia spirit fountain guy, (forgot his name) and fish in his water with the fishing rod, get the loach in like, 2 minutes....... if i remember correctly that is.
wats weired is that u can beat that temple b4 beating the forest temple all u need is the bow. i just moved some levers and blocks without any cheats too.
This is really good.... not quite as epic as the original music from the game though.

So if the Gerudos mate with Hylians, that produces half Gerudos...that means that alot or the majority of Gerudos MUST be only half-Gerudonian?
I hated that the Gerudo women were missing from TP, it would have been awesome to see their updated version. They'd look SICK!

This song is beautiful when it's played both ways. The game version makes you want to take up flamenco and tango, and this orchestral version makes you think of a soundtrack for an action/adventure movie. I love it!

i think its fantastic that this was done for strings. Like, the original, obviously has a flavor to it- i mean, it was the original- but this is super cool, very beautiful <3

this has not sense... gerudo valley song is a flamenco theme, the spanish guitar is a obligation.

@verkja You "have not sense." It's an arrangement for a classical string orchestra. To leave the guitar in would not only take away from this variation of the piece, but it would alter it fundamentally. If you prefer the original version, that's perfectly fine, but the guitar is not an "obligation" simply because you would like it left in.

This song is meant to be played with a Spanish guitar. It's not that this version isn't nice, but I think that the other way is better.

i remember actually becoming sick because i had been trying to beat the water temple for so long. after all that i would take a nice relaxing break down at the fishing hole an try and catch that massive fish that no one ever saw. i still dont know if that shit was true. i can't believe it's been 12 years since i rep this

yea i can see how you got sick. The guy who created the water temple must've been a secret genius lol. havin to lower or raise the water and then knowing what doors to go through and having enough keys and everything, it was ridiculous. i can't remember the biggest fish i ever caught but fishing was relaxing

I fooled around in Kakariko Village and played the horse racing game at Lon Lon Ranch until I felt that it was time to stop neglecting my duties. Oh, and I snuck into the Gerudo Fortress early. I was caught, but luckily I had the hookshot and ocarina songs...whew.

so you never caught the Hyrule Larch? I spend hours and hours trying to catch it :D but i caught it, and it was an endangered species :P lol, so the fisherman let it go.... i was kinda disappointed after hours and hours and hours, to be let go :l
