stop idolizing women who were famous for not accomplishing anything. It's no different than idolizing Paris Hilton today. They were just more stylish and Edie died young so people don't want to admit, it was a case for being famous for nothing!
@Tigerlily21 >>Stop telling people how or what to think...Personally I am a fan of the Era The Factory and Andy Warhol, Both "It Girls" exsisted and gained fame through Warhol. Other than that please Get out of HERE. :)
Edie Sedgwick is so gorgeous unlike girls today that photo shop there face and body, I mean to me that's pathetic, I wish I was in the 60's because you can see there real beauty without technology.....
@AnitaBrooke They still edited photos back in the day, they just didn't do it digitally. Actually, I'd say publicity photos from the 40's and 50's had the least realistic look out of all the eras.
Edie was so much cooler than Baby Jane, imo. While Baby Jane had a classic, very meticulously groomed look, Edie somehow channelled this early punk-ish look. God, Edie at her 21st birthday party in Camdridge looks quite different to the NYC Edie about one year later...
@Dingalingring I don't think Baby Jane Holzer was a classic beauty. I think she looked like a drag queen. I mean, really, she looked like a man. I don't get it. At all.
Baby jane rode a white horse into a niteclub called the electric circus --it hit all the papers the next day - wish I was in new york then - lower east side 8th street in the fab sixties... today we have... Paris (a watered down version)
a poor imitation - or Amanda Cadinet or Sienna miller.
Pleaseantly Surprised with Awesome additional information of Jane..love it. And Yes Paris I agree with you ! But I like Sienna & keira knightley as actresses & themselves
at the time that this rockin' version was recorded, had the group become known as "the guess who", or, were they still known as "chad allen and the expressions?" remember, that's not burton cummings on lead vocals. this great guitar solo, played by randy b., is replicated by mick ronson for his guitar solo on bowie's cover of the who's "i can't explain", on the album, "pin ups." thanks for the treat!
Is that a scar between her eyebrows?
Tempe1962 1 year ago
@Tempe1962 yes Edie had been in a car accident..which is why there are many photo's of her with a little scar

@Tigerlily21 She accomplished somekind of being, adding some meaningless singing, writing, businessing or modelling wouldn't have added much.
