  • Ladies, your individual releases aside--which are great, when on stage with SD, stay in the background. Thank you very much at this time.

  • I'm sorry but for me, this is one of those songs that just needed to be left alone. I wish David Palmer were singing. If only Jack Bauer was faster. But seriously I don't think these back up singers fit well with the group. They are in many performances so the group feels they work. And they're the pros. I'm just a fan. But I still like them. Even converted my wife.

  • For what it's worth I've heard this with Phoebe Snow slinging the lead, and it doesn't sound nearly this good. There may be other blues singers who could improve on this performance, but jhearing this one, it makes more sense coming from a woman than a man. If Don had agree with the rest of you, Palmer would have lasted longer than he did. Donald could have sung the song at these live shows, but that he gave it to the women says something.

  • If only I'd known the DAN in my hometown LIVERPOOL playing live, I'd have been on the next plane out of here(I live abroad)Why didn't you guys tell me heaven's sake...............

  • my favorite Steely Dan song.....without a doubt!!!

  • Amen, deadpan227!

  • My girl my big sis cindy mizelle is an excellent vocalist...

  • She's got great pipes, and I realized on hearing this, that this was how the song was always meant to sound. I've never liked the recorded version, because David Palmer's rendition, always sounded kind of simpering and weak. Now I realize that it was always meant to be a blues, sung by a woman with soul chops.

  • @deadpan227 -you're so full of shit I can't believe anyone could be that lame. The David Palmer version was the one and only GOLD standard, Nobody wants to hear this old fat hag wreck one of Steely Dan's greatest songs.

Yea, they planned on having a woman sing it, fuck you!

  • @deadpan227 - If they released the song sounding like this when it was released it would never have charted. This is God Awful - In My Opinion.

  • good voices, but ruined the song for me...i think most Steely Dan fans agree

  • i like carolyn leonhart's voice (1.39), but cindy mizelle makes it too much like rnb for my liking. as one scouser put it on our way out of the venue - "it was a bit schmaltzy". haha.

  • i'm feelin that

  • The best gig ever, and on my doorstep. The Highlight of 2007.

  • On North Sea Jazz 2007, it was even more powerfull

Those voices, of the beautifull womans, really amazing!

  • Still one of my fave Steely Dan songs and the way it's performed on the road now with these two lovely ladies is awesome!

  • @lmanleycfa -are you deaf or just too old. I mean maybe you are so needy for Steely Dan, you'll accept anyone. Yeah, Tony Orlando will now do the guest vocals on "reeling in the years", & Charo will sing "Bodisthava". Fuck that shit.

  • The singers are Cindy Mizelle and Carolyn Leonhard-Escoffery. I love their performance of this song.

  • Who is singing?

  • This is just out of this world!
