Dam. EH is maybe the best female music front woman today.....apologies to Karen O and Alison Mosshart. Actually they are equal to EH. Someone told me Monster Hospital is about drug rehab...? And "fighting the war" means fighting addiction? Does anyone know? Be cool cool peeps.
@TThirdplaneTT MAYBE....she's quite diferent each others... I also like too much Alison Mosshart and Karen'O and EH is great in her job but isnt the best
She doesn't have to grind and roll her body to look super sexy, and she dances because she wants to, because the music tells her to, not because it would be a terrible show if she didn't. <3
its pointless to lump yyy's in with metric. They both play indie music and are both fronted by charismatic females, other than that its apples and oranges. Are we going to now say that the who and led zeppelin were the same because they have a similar line-up? Of course we aren't. It's all a bit sexist if you think about it
dude, what a shitty crowd! i've not had the pleasure of seeing Metric live before, because i'm in the UK and they don't often play over here. maybe us UKers should start a petition...?
Saw these guys in Saskatoon in October and it fucking rocked!
Near the end, I was like, 'Hey, why the fuck haven't they played Moster Hospital?'. Then immediately after say that, Emily's voice screetches out of the darkness, 'Bam chickie bam...' and I almost shit myself in excitement! It was awesome.
And now I'm babbling....
Oh, they also did an acoustic version of Combat baby at the end and it was fabulous.
I don't think their music are so similar, i mean they both have a strange/awesome female singer but their drummers are very different, YYY have no bass player and the guitar style is really deeper/louder in Nick Zinner (Yeah Yeah Yeahs) sound. And the Yeah Yeah Yeahs are less electronic (exept the last album)
yes, she's pretty weird. I'm not a huge fan of her as a person, but I like Metric's music. As long as I don't have to hear her talk and be all melodramatic like usual...This was a pretty good performance of that song though.
my name is metric

How cool was it the Nick zinner karen O Jimmy Shaw and Emily Haines Shared a loft in broklyn before they where famous!! that would have been cool
STRUCK37 2 years ago 2
@brad151085 The thing is, the two bands used to make different music. Now i must admit the YYYs are heading to a more electonic dimension.
