  • This really was great. He pulled the emotional strings well and brought me up and down. Excellent work Klavan; those years at Harvard paid off!

  • Why this wasn't posted as a single video is beyond me. It worth the time to watch all 5 of them.

P.S. I'm pretty sure all the dislikes are communists who are so disconnected from reality that they can't like his fiction because of his political views.

  • wow, what an incredible story.

  • continued...

Four and twenty deadbirds, they bleed upon the nest

There was no time for reason, they had no sign of a threat

Now it's too late, too late for me

This town will eventually take me

Too late, too late for me

    This town will win

  • From the song called Hometown.

    He spoke of tortured souls

    So outrageous the toll

You can lose all you have

He refused to give in to the town that takes all

Survive, you must have the will

This movie doesn't end the way we want all the time

Then he shouts at the moon

She's gone, and fear has overcome

He was walking the mile, he was walking alone

  • This reminds me of my favorite video game of all time.

It is the town that is silent.

    It is Silent Hill.

  • This is creepy as hell!

  • great story posted on my paranormal blog.

  • You are the greatest storyteller I've ever heard. That is a very chilling story.

  • For those who are bored.

  • Oh.... Oh dear......

  • DAMN FINE STORY TELLER

  • Whoa!

  • Amanda must have been a former boyscout majoring in Mathematics. That would be pretty tough to do in such a short space of time.

  • This is awesome! I'm loving it. Keep going keep going! PART 2!

  • I'm pretty sure this is fiction...i hope

  • Klavan went to Berkeley, not Harvard.

  • That was the saddest story, ever! If that's true then my God, man. Just my God.

  • Jeez, Klavan... a cliffhanger?!

When's Part 2? Too long & we won't remember who Amanda is!

  • Total Bummer! Great Story, Only if it's not true.

  • Wow, I hope that story isn't true, but it doesn't sound like a lie

  • god dangit

  • Holy hell that was great!

  • also this:

"He has been nominated for the Mystery Writers of Americas Edgar Award five times and has won twice. His latest novel for adults, Empire of Lies, was about media bias in the age of terror, and topped Amazon.coms thriller list. He has also made bestseller lists with his new thriller for young adults The Last Thing I Remember, the first book in the Homelanders series. "

  • just a thought but consider this excerpt from his pjtv bio:

"Andrew Klavan is the author of such internationally bestselling crime novels as True Crime, filmed by Clint Eastwood, and Dont Say A Word, filmed starring Michael Douglas".

  • Andrew, thank you for sharing this tale. Unnerving but very brave of you to share.

  • omg, when is the next episode???? do we have to wait two weeks?

  • Please, finish the story!

  • next time take a look at that sound level meter thing :P

but nice episode ! merry x mess

  • omg , he is a very good story teller.

I can't wait for part two.

  • Wow.

  • I hope this ends up being an absurdly complex allegory for why liberals are stupid, otherwise it's really tragic.

  • I will withhold judgement until I see part two.

  • DAAAAAMN I was waiting for the christmas cheery happy ending about them getting together

  • Brix were shat.

  • Such a tragic tale... there cannot be a happy ending to this.

  • Andrew, you're breaking me.

  • What can I say? Andy, Andy, Andy....

Your themes tend to be dark and twisted.

    Interesting yes, but hmmm..

    Ok I'm hooked, part 2?

  • I really hope this is fiction, to be honest.

  • wtf?...

  • Fantastic story can't wait for the ending.

  • Wow......

  • What the heck Klavan!

  • I hope this is fiction, dude... :(

  • *shiver* whhhoooooaaaaa. . .

  • Um... yikes.

  • Very Sad, and Devastating.

  • Good God. Is it just me, or is there no part 2 to be found?

  • Parts 2 and 3 tomorrow. Parts 4 and 5 after that.

  • Thank you.

  • well this was just posted, but i am looking to see what the deal is in part two, is this an allegory or what

  • I hope not. My little brother killed himself just before Christmas many years ago. I am starting to work up an anger we are playing a game here. I hope not.

Why delay the up load of part 2?

  • W.......T........F??!!!!

  • JESUS Klavan!!

  • No, sorry, I don't mean to be the first to cry foul on this, but the computer animated fire is too much for me. I can already see the next plot developments dangling in the air, waiting to be dropped.

  • Didn't expect this. Now, I'll have to stay tuned as well.

  • woah

  • I really shouldn't have watched this right before going to bed, but I'm expecting a really good second part.

  • Wow, Andrew, I`m not sure what to believe, but I`ll believe you`re sincere. That is a terrible story to have to hold in your heart. I can only imagine the pain and grief in your heart and the suffering you must have felt reconciling what happened, not just the fact that another human being lost her life, but that your child lost his or her`s as well. I look forward to hearing the conclusion to this story, even though I know it must be painful for you to share. Thank you.

  • holy crap

  • ........wow, just...........wow.

  • Um... not really making me feel all warm a fuzzy here. Maybe should have told that one a Halloween. Still a good story though. Can't wait for part 2.

  • By the way, why is one of the tags for this story "Murder"?

  • I hope this is just storytelling.... I really do...

    It's terrible otherwise

  • It has to be. He didn't go to Harvard. His Wikipedia page says he went to University of California, Berkeley.

  • Obama went to Harvard though. I wonder if this is about him O.o.

  • So are you recycling the name Amanda from your novel "Hunting Down Amanda" about the kid with the implausible healing powers? Or was there a real Amanda that you used as a namesake for that story?

  • Was it true. I was expecting a political comparison.

  • I am want to comment, that is the mother in me but I am going to hold off my opinion until I listen to part 2

  • I'll definitely stay tuned!

  • I'm so so sorry! haypenny is right, you shouldn't blame yourself. What a horrible thing.

  • WOW!

  • oh my God that was terrible...

    i am sosososo sorry :'/

  • Andrew - thank you for sharing this heart-wrenching part of your life. I'm very sorry. Please, please, don't blame yourself. It seems like a scene played out so often, so similarly - but the outcome is rarely this tragic.

    Rest in Peace Amanda sweetheart.

  • Whoa, what the hell? Is this story true?

  • @dennist3hmenace Of course not.

  • yeah I am genuinely freaked out right now.

  • Wow, I am sorry

  • first

  • although having watched the entire thing, you'll have to excuse my childish need to be the first comment.

sorry to hear about what had happened.

  • yea, that was sort of childish with this sort of story....
