  • EPIC AXLE SNAP

  • Yep, That did indeed suck.

  • I agree with Axer

  • Your driving seemed to be very good. File this under: Sh*t happens. Glad you were OK.

  • is this real life or a game?

  • i counted 5 roll overs?

  • v-tec just kicked in yo.

  • DO A BARREL ROLL!!!

  • I bet he did that on purpose :D

  • wow that's an amazing crash

  • $100 says the axle broke!

  • sounds like he clutch kicks it and insta spins!

  • I DROVE THIS TRACK ON FORZA 3, AND I DIDNT ROLL.

  • @DaveTubee so did i

  • at 1:13 ish did he seriously pull up the e-brake?

  • i love road america hahaha!

  • what did you do slip on the throttle I'v done that before

  • Was there a shot of the crash from the outside? That looked like a wild ride.

  • what car was that, a corvette c1?

  • @mikethenascarfan - It was a 1961 Triumph TR-4 Vintage race car. The right front fender and trunklid were the only body panels to survive. The trunklid was flung off and landed like 50 feet from the car.

  • @tonyd0308 oh boy.. thats a buetiful vehical, a agile little thing on the track no?

  • @mikethenascarfan it certainly is (was) a hoot to drive. Of course it's been replaced and I'm still driving a TR-4.

  • @tonyd0308 i bet i bet, hows the new one running?

  • @mikethenascarfan New one is running well! We have an annual Triumph racer get together. This year's was at Topeka (Heartland Park). I placed 3rd in that one - behind Sam Halkias who won the E Production SCCA Runoffs last year and a gentleman from England who keeps one of his Triumph race cars in the States.

  • @tonyd0308 well, that is awesome stuff man, keep the tires warm in topeka, hahaha! do have any videos of it?

  • @mikethenascarfan No video of Topeka, but I have a few older in-car races under my profile on you tube. Got a little burned out on putting the video equipment in the car, getting it going while on the grid and then spending a couple of hours editing it down for public consumption. Final result was generally pleasing, though.

  • And that's an example of a well made roll cage saving another life. Without it, that convertible would stand no chance toppling and crushing this man.

  • I can see how it broke. I think the diff. is gone because all the friction and force made the metal brake

  • I used to live in Sheboygan. Took my 83 Mazda RX-7 there many times. Glad you were ok, sucks that it happened though.

  • Instant turbo :D

  • vtec just kicked in yo!

  • Holy freakin crap. No savin that one. I've never seen one snap that fast.

Interesting though to hear the engine go from bogging to F1 revs when the axle popped. Glad your ok man.

  • Conversation between guys in the car. "Yeah my wife is like your stupid and I was like no your stupid and.." *crash* "Dude! Don't ignore me now just because you got a little glass in your eye."

  • "well that sucked!" "yes."

hahahaha brilliant, glad your ok though

  • greatest line ever...and yes...it did...

  • could that have broke @ a worse time ?

  • i live in wisconsin. lol nice car to bad it crashed glad your ok hopefuly you can fix it.

  • i live in wisconsin too. i rolled my pt cruiser going 80 4 times nose over tail on stony road by antigo

  • They say that if the car rolls more than once, than your dead, but half a roll is nothing, but I am too glad that everyone is ok

  • i rolled over 5 times going at 80 mph and im ok

  • Comment removed

  • i was in a suv that rolled 7 times going 90km/h. not a scratch, but i was the passanger.

  • Who's ''They'' ?

  • poor ol' tr4! glad you were okay! where were you racing?

  • Road America, Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, USA. Turn 10 - the "carousel".

  • Dude, fail.

It happens. Just awesome that you're okay.

  • DO A BARREL ROLL

  • were you accelerating to hard around that corner?

  • the axle broke rere

  • so how many times did you roll?

  • I had to slow motion through the original video to figure it out. It went up on the drivers door and did a 360 there before landing back on it's wheels and sliding off the track into the gravel trap sideways. THEN it did 3 barrel rolls.

  • did you sneeze making your foot bottom out the throttle? lol

  • It was floored already - when the axle broke the engine spooled up...

  • what happened to the person driving

  • Driver (me) limped away with no serious issues.

  • did it hurt

  • It didn't hurt while it was happening, but it was the most violent thing I've done so far in my life. I had a surprising amount of time to think about things - I thought "I should let go of the steering wheel, clenching it so tightly is going to cause me pain later" but couldn't bring myself to let go. Good thing, because the doors and roof came off and my arms probably would have been crushed. I was just really sore (back especially) for a week, and then kinda sore for another week.

  • axel broke...

  • This is Microsoft fault. I don't know how. But it is. All bad things and problems in life lead back to them. He must have been a Windows user. That or his cars computer was running Windows. The behavioral characteristics of the crash resembles Windows performance perfectly!

  • @thekostlives this is the funniest thing I've heard in a while..blame it on windows bahahahahah!!!

and LOL to the "well that sucked!"

hahah oh wow I'm lame :))

  • @thekostlives Yeah...it all seems to be going fine, then for no good reason it all goes to shit and you have no fucking idea where u are or what the fuck happened :)

  • god dammit that sounds too familiar... gives me chills hearin it. it looked like the ass end almost hopped off the ground comin around 10 (when the oversteer kicked in). im guessin your alright though. live to race another day haha

  • was he racing at elkhart lake?

  • Yes, the axle broke in the carousel (turn 10) at Road America / Elkhart Lake.

  • Man, talk about snap oversteer...

  • poor car

  • "Well, that car's no good anymore."

  • wow what the hell happpend it was normal and then "scerch flip" out of nowhere

  • I like the "Well that sucks" comment. That was my thought when I flipped my car several times. Luckily my car wasn't so nice.

  • wow that must have sucked you had no time to even react to that amazing

  • ookay?!o0 this crash really sucked!^^

  • well that sucked! way to take destroying your car in stride. lol

  • I race a bmw 2002 and rear stub axels are famous for failing.....they have billet ones for $750 ... I might actually consider the purchase now.... wow.....that sucked!

Url to pics of the aftermath? I always so curious to see how cages do in crashes...

  • Cages Help. Trust Me.

  • yeah that safty is good for stuff like that ehh

  • Just a little bump & your loose

  • WOW your lucky, POS axle lol ive never seen that in racing before lol, and what car was that?

  • It was a 1961 Triumph TR-4 vintage race car with the rare factory hard top. The axle was good steel, but a bad design.

  • Beautifull car, must of been bad design.

  • Glad you are OK.. you can always build another

  • well that sucked lol thats all he had to say , thats a man dude

  • It was certainly the most violent event I've experienced so far. Thank goodness for safety equipment. TD

  • Just ran across this while I was surfing. All I can say is Yeah. That would suck. Glad you made it out in one piece. :)
