@mikethenascarfan - It was a 1961 Triumph TR-4 Vintage race car. The right front fender and trunklid were the only body panels to survive. The trunklid was flung off and landed like 50 feet from the car.
@mikethenascarfan New one is running well! We have an annual Triumph racer get together. This year's was at Topeka (Heartland Park). I placed 3rd in that one - behind Sam Halkias who won the E Production SCCA Runoffs last year and a gentleman from England who keeps one of his Triumph race cars in the States.
@mikethenascarfan No video of Topeka, but I have a few older in-car races under my profile on you tube. Got a little burned out on putting the video equipment in the car, getting it going while on the grid and then spending a couple of hours editing it down for public consumption. Final result was generally pleasing, though.
And that's an example of a well made roll cage saving another life. Without it, that convertible would stand no chance toppling and crushing this man.
Conversation between guys in the car. "Yeah my wife is like your stupid and I was like no your stupid and.." *crash* "Dude! Don't ignore me now just because you got a little glass in your eye."
I had to slow motion through the original video to figure it out. It went up on the drivers door and did a 360 there before landing back on it's wheels and sliding off the track into the gravel trap sideways. THEN it did 3 barrel rolls.
It didn't hurt while it was happening, but it was the most violent thing I've done so far in my life. I had a surprising amount of time to think about things - I thought "I should let go of the steering wheel, clenching it so tightly is going to cause me pain later" but couldn't bring myself to let go. Good thing, because the doors and roof came off and my arms probably would have been crushed. I was just really sore (back especially) for a week, and then kinda sore for another week.
This is Microsoft fault. I don't know how. But it is. All bad things and problems in life lead back to them. He must have been a Windows user. That or his cars computer was running Windows. The behavioral characteristics of the crash resembles Windows performance perfectly!
@thekostlives Yeah...it all seems to be going fine, then for no good reason it all goes to shit and you have no fucking idea where u are or what the fuck happened :)
god dammit that sounds too familiar... gives me chills hearin it. it looked like the ass end almost hopped off the ground comin around 10 (when the oversteer kicked in). im guessin your alright though. live to race another day haha
I race a bmw 2002 and rear stub axels are famous for failing.....they have billet ones for $750 ... I might actually consider the purchase now.... wow.....that sucked!

I can see how it broke. I think the diff. is gone because all the friction and force made the metal brake
