  • fucking cylons man

  • @starwillf6 maybe a super battlestar

  • how about leaving the original soundtrack in? not a personal touch that just made it rotten...............

  • like how the jump put out all the fires

  • In the opening shot of the shipyards there's a battlestar that appears to be almost twice the size of Pegasus, it's at the top of the screen.

  • @flerrel isnt that just another battlestar like the galactica or maybe an updated version ?

  • @flerrel It could be just a View difference, or it could actually be a larger version of a Columbia class

  • @flerrel i belive thats the fleet flagship as when the cylons attacked most of the fleet ships where in drydock for updateing and new computer systeams and such being installed hench why the cylons where able to hack in to everything and fuck the 12 colonies up.

  • @3L24 It's not the fleet flagship, it's a much larger version of Galacti a (the writers would say it was built after the war - but it was also to save design costs for a ship they wouldn't show more than once). The Fleet Flagship took command after Picon Headquarters was destroyed, so was not at Scorpion sihpyards. Also the flagship would be a much later design, maybe a Pegasus class or something similar.

  • @TRUExSIGHTS pegasus class, the pegasus was a mercury class

  • @Conor17777 I said Pegasus class as most people don't know its called mercury. We know the Battlestar was called the Atlantia which took over the fleet, though debate is around whether it was called the Atlantia class or not, as there is no indication to its class name. Also, numbers of battlestars are known (120) but not what types and how many different designs were present. A few new designs were shown in "The Plan" i believe, but not-one is sure what they are.

  • @TRUExSIGHTS just checkin :), but a new design of the Valkryie class was shown in the plan and many other types of strike star were docked at the scorpion shipyards

  • @Conor17777 It does look similar to the valkryie class, but there are a few major differences, especially in the size, armour, weapons and general look. It may be a new class completely or just a newer development (or maybe the origional class if the Valkryie was just a special one off battlestar). Yes there were strikestars (they would be the equivalent of destroys in modern day terms), and there are a few design types present throughout the series i believe

  • @flerrel The graphics people made a goof and created a battlestar twice as big as Galactica and inserted into drydock. They have admitted it was in error

  • pearl harbour in space...

  • those fucking calculators, destroy them!!!

  • It's been a while and I am missing some posts, but during this music from the Babylon5 movie, he said something like "When they ran out of ships, they fought with guns. When they ran out of guns, they fought with sticks and stones and barehands. But in the end, the humans simply ran out of time." . Then they cut to the battle of the Line. And it was Londo Marilari (sp?), not Lando from SW:Empire Strikes Back

  • @Shoflum Babylon 5: In the Beginning

  • love the B5 music in this

  • Tanith first and only, never thougth of it :D very simular plot...just in WH40K only the tanith humans lose their world.

  • This song would be better on a Tanith first and only movie, the music would work well.

  • TIS VD WAS NICELY DONE...

  • does anyone have the original song for this scene?

  • nice music touch...i forget the name of that track ( i have the Babylon 5 In the Beginning soundtrack somewhere )...but good choice to fit the dismay...PARTICULARLY the twenty odd seconds

  • i think it's called ''the war''

  • The music from the actual movie was better than this nostalgic/dramatic stuff you put on here.

  • 100% agreement! The Fall of the Scorpion Shipyards is actually one of my favourite pieces in the entire series! I wonder how long it will take people to realize that when you turn an awesome scene like this into a gay music video, the whole point of the scene is effectively destroyed.

  • I'm a huge fan of McCreary's work, ive posted on his blog. Certainly his score suited it best - what ive put here certainly doesn't sound "Galactica-Esque". However, I found the music to be particularly moving, and they seemed a good fit. If you aren't a fan of music videos to scenes like this, perhaps you shouldn't watch something clearly labeled as such? Sorry ya didn't like it, but you can't please everyone (Im no Bear McCreary after all) =)

  • Usually I really hate when people add custom music to BSG clips simply because either they are just outright unfitting or that Bear's tracks are much superior; however, I actually like this particular video a lot. The somewhat melancholy and low key music fits quite well with the scenes. Great job :)

  • This isn't custom this is from Babylon 5: In the Beginning.

  • By custom I meant non-bsg music

  • Probably because the music is from the other greatest sci-fi show ever ;)

  • @HisDivineShadow245 A large majority of the background music for scenes in BSG is with this kind of scottish tribal music that was on this video, it gives the whole colonial feel that BSG is about, the humans effectivley on the run.

This is one of the best scenes in the film with or without the added music.

Listen to some of the scenes with the Admiral and this kind of music is usually on.

  • the music from In the Beginning really matched this scene very well. Good job with coming up with the mix :)

  • so you said that, this is "In The Beginning"

    but what song is it?

    anybody?

  • I dont think it is a particular song, the soundtrack was split into 6 large tracks covering the entirety of the movie. According to mine, its from "The Story is Never Over", and the sub-track would be "The War" (as that larger pieice included the battle of the line, the presidents speech and the minbari revelations).

  • @RubberDuck3h

to be more accuate, it is when Londo says that the humans never gave up fighting even after taking so many losses

  • @Trek001 For a second I forgot all about B5 and thought "Did Lando Calrissian really say that???" I should probably get some sleep...

  • The animators erred in this movie. In zero g (Earth Gravity), smoke plumes from fire will not rise. In order to have rising smoke plumes, you need convection, and to have convection you need gravity. Also, the fire would be spherical for the same reason. While the ships generate a gravity field, you woudn't expect it to extend far into space.

  • It's plausible that what we're seeing is the smoke plumes plus the ship atmosphere venting from the high-pressure interior due to the hull breaches caused by the explosions.

  • That it entirely plausible. I couldn't dismiss that. Still, the smoke plumes would need to expand in a vacuum.

  • because of the vacuum of space, you should not see much, if any smoke at all... Since the smoke 'expands' VERY fast...

  • Yes, but it wouldn't make for a very exciting scene I'm afraid. Seeing as Galactica is one of only two shows to actually treat spaceships like spaceships, im willing to let it slide.

  • Would that other show be Firefly? Becuase they don't have exactly realistic ship stuff, but, they have no sound in space, which I don't think any other show has done.

  • thay did the whole muffled sound in space thing in the movie sunshine as well

  • treat spaceships like space ships? how do they have gravity on them? and they are always battling so far from any star, where does the wisable light come from? they shouldn't be able to see enemy ships or vice versa...but that would really do the show in wouldnt it....

  • the "wisable" light, as you say, comes from either the planet, the star it's orbiting and the plasma being let off from large explosions such as the ones you see here. As for the gravity, anyone with any imagination could come up with something.

  • about the light, i'm talking about scenes in dep space, where they are not shown as orbiting something...but just nowhere near any star.

o, i see. so it's imaginary gravity. ok. but it just doesn't make sense, unless you are on a huge huge huge huge preferably sphearecal spaceship, i don't think it's actually possible.

  • It would be invisible to the eye but not to dradis (radar). If yopu noticed there are no windows in the ships CIC. Everything is done by instrumentatyion. Much like a warship today.

Since this is science fiction one hasto imagine a way of creating artifical gravity. That's part of the allure.

If you were ina fighter in space and you fired your weapons yopu would hear that sound but not the explosion of anything you hit.

  • there were no battles in open space, because the cyclons couldn't track them. almost every battle happend inside a solar system

  • these two ber realist twerps dont graps the beauy of sci-fi.

they may not even understand, that technology once considered sci fi is now at our fingertips.

  • B5 and BSG fit well together!! Both are great, great shows!!

  • "Frak you man... frak you". you just made something that was great and made it awesome.

    'you motherfraker".... "frak you"!?!

  • Geez, like the futuristic version of pearl harbor.

  • Well, that was what the producers were aiming for in this sequence.

  • @woodgateski lols i just had that in mind

  • @woodgateski Without 4 Surviving aircraft carriers (AKA Battlestars)

  • Atleast you put credits..

  • yeah thanks alot for stealing the music from babylon 5.......just kidding good job i gess B5 rules!!!

  • Yeah no wonder it was very familiar

  • If only Franke did music for BSG...

  • I need this music!

  • I'm actually going to remix this video with better timing and incorporate footage from the extended version as Razor as soon as my finals are over. I know the timing sucks.

  • good music but you should work a bit more in timing. 4/5

  • Very good.

  • its plays very well here good idea to put the two together

  • nicely done

  • The music is taken from a scene from a B5 movie. Watch the clip intitled Mollari on Humans. The scene is at least as beautiful as this one !!

  • realy cool

  • Fits perfectly! Well done!

  • this is superb! can someone tell me where can I download this music?

  • good work

  • Hmm, That music SO fits BSG.

I almost thought it WAS from BSG until I checked your notes.

  • dude this video is awesome the music is perfect

  • Oooh so sad!! I Love it!
