Just listen to the ending. I wonder why Cziffra played it different way in his later performances, with some strange changes of volume. Here it's just perfect...
how this lady gaga, j lo kind of people survive in front of such a heavenly masterpieces. Really we are at the end of the world if we be really not awake in time.
It's just mind blowing that Cziffra gets only 28 thousand views while that clown maksim has more than 2 million! Even if people didn't know Cziffra's Hungarian this rendition is totally, 100 percent Hungarian, he was really incredible! I also love Jung Lin's rendition, actually hard to hear much difference from Cziffra's! :D
@Graffyish Fast and clear, You can be fast and noisy, but this man is really beyond all standards , he has the feeling and technique of a grand grand master and also a unique touch of his own (probably due to his life experiences). A genius of geniuses.
I like his live version on yt better. Cziffra is pure magic, everything he ever performed is purely amazing :) I also like Jung Lin's HR2, also pure magic :)
@777mrpiano777 Uh u forget Liszt was -as well as being a keyboard genius - was a great composer and left the planet some of the finest piano music ever as well as a variety of orchestral and vocal music. Cziffra was a performance genius but left us nothing other than his performances.
@anthonyjakes Please don´t forget that Cziffra spent 10 years in prison for refuising to fight for the russians. It was a miracle he managed to rise from the shadows and found a way to play with a broken finger :).
Cziffra has a couple interpretations there is another video that you can listen to and you will find at some parts its different. It might be as well a improvisation. But it looks to obvious and different.I still like this one better :) Its amazing and so is Cziffra.
FANTASTIQUE! Merci.

This is Cziffra, no doubt. From EMI Classics "Hungarian Rhapsodies", CD relased in 2002. And the recording was made in late 50s (1957-59).
And it's even better than the second one (watch?v=fnChH3cFPnY), which I considered the best version of original HR2, untill I head this one :)

Are you sure it's Cziffra? There's many parts a Hungarian wouldn't do, and plus there's false notes. Was he improvising?
PrincessDesert 2 years ago
This surly is Cziffra playing. Its his interpretation .. and Cziffra always improvises on his recordings..
