excellent video m8..i am wary of mag lights tho as the batterys tend to reat with the casing when in storage and they re unreliable..pelly light or petzl are better..WHAT MAKES THE MAP CASE M8...yogi1kenobi@hotmail.co.uk

@yogi1kenobi Yeah, to be fair, this torch is shit! It's not even I proper maglite, I actually just put my petzl elight in my latest pouch, not too bright but reliable as you say. The Map Case is maxpedition, lovely, well made piece of kit, but, one major flaw, is it doesn't fit an English OS map in it, I had to cut my on of the Brecon Beacons up to fit it in, which was a bit annoying, but other than that it's the bollocks, the whole thing of being able to rip it away when you're walking is good

Is there any possible way to convert a belt pouch into a Molle pouch at all?

yes, the belt buckles can easily be tucked into a sleeve at the back and there is then molle attachment points and some fastening loops too quite versatile in that respect

fantastic kit matw, been loooking for a decent sas pouch for a while, and at about 15 quid this is perfect. just one sugestion on your sharpening system, i'd get rid of the stone and pocket sharpener and get a diamound rod. it has a flat side for plain edge, convex for serrated, and a groove for fish hooks. a briliant piece of kit at a good price of about 8 quid most places, you get a pack of two. just thought i'd sugest it.

How do you like the Durability of the Snugpak? I like the design as I think I can use it in multiple configurations. And it's like 1/3 the price of the comparable Maxpedition Proteus I'm sure the Maxpedition is superior but everything I've seen on the Snug gear sounds like it's pretty sound stuff. Not real common here in the states though.

Try a Fallkniven DC3 or just the D4, great bit of kit for sharpening anything and it's very low profileSharpens up my Ax and Golock nicely...

I have this very same pack and have been using it as my last resort survival kit too. SNAP! I don't have it so fully packed out though to save weight - only some basic first aid, a neck knife, paracord, torch, sabre saw and fire making kit.

@TheHandOfCod Yeah it's a great little pack, to be honest I don't lug all this about all the time, different situations call for different things I 'spose, in my car though, with the bad weather conditions we've been having lately, I take all this, that's why I done the video now, so I could just demonstrate it at it's fullest, but yeah carrying it like this for a hike to the woods would be a bit OTT

What do you mean with Maxpedition is making a better version, the Snugpak Waist Pack is a great piece of kit, the Prometeus is roughly just the same but much more expensive, and the Sabrecat is playing in another league. (Would be worth the money if they made it with the Silverfox Mods^^) If you are waiting for the Snugpak to break to buy a Maxpedition it could take quite a while ;-)

@q1qeu Don't get me wrong, I love the Response pak, it's one of my favourite pieces of kit, I'm just pointing out the fact Maxpedition use better material and stitching, in my opinion, but like I say I love this pack and hope it doesn't break any time soon. Yeah those silver fox mods would be great on these, but I'm not gonna start cutting things off and re-sowing them back on as my sowing is shit!! haha
