Sorry Mithrandir, I have to agree with the conductor, an ABBA fan as am I, when he says that Sissels performance is way better then the original. We talk about singing quality here, and as he says in a tv-interview nothing can match Sissel´s angelic voice and performance of this song. I think that he only have been professional for forty years, but he sure knows something of singing quality.

You prefer the original, fine with me, taste differs, but original is not a guarantee for being best.

@GosuSan I'm sorry as well, but I disagree with you you. :P I love this version of the song and it's really good, but it's nothing compared to the ABBA version. Frida just has so much more emotion in her voice, because of the things she was going through at the time. And yeah, she's a mezzo soprano, but if ABBA thought this song was for a soprano, they would have used Agnetha. Besides, I feel the 'ticking' was an imp. part in the original and I miss it here. Nonetheless, this is wonderful.

I remember wanting to listen to this song on my mission when it came out in 1982. I was treated in the most horrible manner possible. Later in another mission, I won an autographed ABBA LP off a Radio station contest.  God loves ABBA. Some mission presidents don't.
