i have seen both the oakley and the ray-ban and tried on both, i also own both oakley and ray-ban. i find oakley dosent break as compared to the ray-ban and the optical clairity is supreme. visit an oakley store and ask about oakley technology and visit a sunglass hut and ask about ray-ban technology. i can almost promise you will chose oakley.

Yet both Ray Bans (since 98') and Oakley (since 07') are now made by Luxottica.

I had some old Bausch and Lomb ray bans that were amazing late 80's Balorama's they were heavy duty and the best glasses i have ever had. Scratched lenses and all, yet couldn't notice em while on my face. The New ones made by Luxottica seem slightly different to me. Not as heavy possibly.

this debate is so unnecessary. the frogskins were inspired by the original rayban wayfarers which came out in 1952. every other sunglass company has had their own spin on the wayfarer model but rayban was the trend setter. the simple fact is that raybans are classics that stood the test of time and oakley can never be compared to them

Oakley frames just look sleazy..like something out of a bad science fiction film.
