lol after i beated the game a while ago I started cheating now, its a little fun but I'm only doing it to get the good ending, i got the bad ending when i played it with out cheating and it tared me up. (lol now Magus dose up to 1500 attack, and 3000 critical attack)

@NOVAROMM You could get an N64 emulator and the ROM. I think that's what the poster of this video did.

Not bad, but you can simply train a Quetzacoatl or an Hydra (Quetzacoatl is better because it stun effect is better than the sleep from the Hydra)

In my last run i used 4 units, each one with a dragon (2 Hydra and 2 Quetzacoatl), and they were simply unstoppable.

You can find these dragons in stage 7 or 8 (don't remember, see gamefaqs.com), it will take time but it is worth the time spent.

I always had a hard time with alignment on this game. Like, I know that you're supposed to fight enemies of the opposite alignment, and that they need to be stronger than you if you want good alignment. But the ALI UP always seems to go to the guys in the party, rather than Magnus himself. I figure it has something to do with who gets the kills. So I guess what i'm asking is, "what should I do to make sure magnus gets the kills over the other guys in his party?"

I think that they've actually made more recent ogre battles, but they weren't translated to english or something. Send letters to quest to get the games translated!!!

How did you get the Valkyries to always target the same unit? I have an issue with that, but I tend to use wizards and sorceress xD

I believe that they must be the same or similar type of unit and similar speeds,

then they'll combine attacks.

Combined attacks only happen if a couple things are met:

1: The units involved are casters or soldiers.

2: High unity improves the odds apparently (You can either use the flag of unity item, or have the same units in a squad for a while together)

3: I don't think element type matters since you can have combination magic consisting of two types of casters, but I would bet if they are the same type they combine more often.

4: The enemy they target must be able to be targeted by both units.

The ONLY thing bad about this game, and I do mean the only thing, is that the difficulty is too easy. The enemy units have bad formations and are usually weaker than your own units. Much like FFT actually, but that's also a stellar game.

Otherwise this game is amazing and worth every penny or second spent on it.

He, should check out how much a unit with princess leader and lich would own and maybe with a few black knights as frontlines. Hit all 3x from the lich alone. Could clean entire scenes with that single unit.

They FINALLY came out with the first ogre battle on the wii in it's virtual console emulator..Maybe it's only a matter of time before they add the 64 one as well. They need to make a 3rd ogre battle..not counting Tactics ogre

I played this game so much back in the day..I wish I could play it again now because I was like 12-13 at the time and man I was such a noob:s..whereas nowadays I've read so much and know what to do on it now yet it sucks that my n64 doesn't seem to work and the rom crashes on emulators. It's sad to think about how great the nintendo games were back then and then looking at how much they lack now. Don't get me wrong stuff like Zelda:TP and SSBB are good,but not like the classics

this was such a fun game. I used to play it constantly if they made this game on a modern platform it would be a huge sucess. The Graphics,Sound,And some tweaks in the gameplay would make this game a TON of fun!

mt12xd the way u lose or win depends on which team deals the most dmg. say my team does 500 dmg in total and theirs does 550 they will win.

No matter what I did in this game, I could never get a bad alignment unless I grouped all the bad guys together. It sucked for the longest time. I think I ended up using a chat so I could spam the Ali UP/Down items cause it was ruining the fun.

You can but the n64 version has a few differences from the snes version, and if you want the good ending then killing everything is considered evil and won't get you far.

What I started with was a cleric, two archers, and some soldiers in that party (right off the start), I found a gryphon by running around the world map and made a party of 2 archers a cleric and a gryphon. For some odd reason, this party just kicked major ass by itself.

I continued to train this party, eventually they get enough stats that you can change their class, and the gryphon will morph at lvl 10.

The valks were first, then eventually you could morph the cleric into a priest once you aquired the priest form.

The hardest part about making a priest is that you have to keep the cleric's alignment decently lawfull to change, I have a team of two clerics + a black knight and two of the bigger pikemen, their alignment is almost 100% C, but they have more than enough stats to change to priests.. But they can't cause they're not in the alignment range.

and also, any idea on how to quickly get a unit lawful? because i have a cleric in just about every group and most of em are chaotic :|

no, you gain the class when you have at least one unit capable of switching to it stat and alignment wise.

Try only attacking during the day for alignment up maybe?

put your soon to be lawful unit in a party with other lawful units and they will even out

also, put the attack strategy to attqack strongest

and (if you can) attack chaotic ppl

try making a weak or underused unit, a unit that has a way lower level that their opponents are most likely to get their alignment raised

With this unit I can literally set some waypoints and orders, then sit back n' watch.
