John Lennon: "I think it's a lot of hype. I like `Honky Tonk Women,' but I think Mick's a joke with all that fag dancing; I always did. I enjoy it; I'll probably go and see his films and all like everybody else, but really, I think it's a joke."
If I was the bell-hop and I saw a guy dressed like that and gesticulating at me with that much bizarre intensity, I believe I would bend over laughing and then piss my pants.
@notfragile33 Indeed,pathetic.....another embarressing example how much this dude needed Richards to keep him in check .He needed 3:50 & 4:47 for REAL.
I have this song from the album The Very Best of Mick Jagger (2007). Too bad that it doesn't have the "Yes, I'm lucky, yes, I'm lucky" part at the beginning of the track.
Still "Lucky In Love" Mick's best song as a solo artist.
@deathofamailman That's b/c both were using almost the exact same studio musicians, co writers, video directors, etc and both were released around '85-'86.
@deathofamailman Yeah, they were a bit overproduced, IMO. But I like the music on both those records (cd's or whatever ). I think that Mick's first solo effort was excellent, much better than the stuff that the stones were releasing at the time (mid 80s). Same with Stewart. By the late 80s, however, Mick was creating junk. Remember that awful Let's Work single? I think the album was called Primitive Cool or something
@ritter89 I thought the 80s were a tough time for rock and roll bands. The sound had become crisp and clean to the point of being sterile. The clothes were no picnic, either. I remember "Let's Work" and Mick's clothes in the video, and his clothes in the one he did with Bowie. Oh, and Jimmy Page's Live Aid Pink and White outfit. Just a rough time for rock and roll...
@jimbailey69 LOL., I've always thought the same thing about him. Dead ringer for Knotts. Jagger's one of those guys who should thank his lucky stars that he never went bald b/c he'd never have been able to pull it off and his sex symbol status would have went to down the drain along with his locks. He's just too small, wiry and androgynous to be bald
I love this tune! I love the last bit when he's like "I just can't lose out on this! Ya wanna see me? I got a Full House! What's that? A Royal Flush? Well, aint that a bust! I'm broke!"
Jagger you are awesome <3333
