Don't be so sure of that. I've actually heard a track (Trampolines in Quicksand) from their final unfinished album which is being completed. Gene Jun has been finishing up his parts and most of the rest of it is done. This is no guarantee that the album will be completed but I doubt that Nils and Dan would be taking the time to have Gene record his parts if they didn't intend to finish it.
