The curvature of the petals will be better if you use a pen or pencil that is round instead of polygonal (hexagonal, octagonal, etc.).

Thank you! It was a bit time consuming, but very simple, even for an amateur like me.

Also, a tip to anyone using origami paper: Start with the colored side up, so that the horizontal and vertical creases are valley folds, and the diagonal creases are mountain folds. This will make most of the flower white, but it will have stripes of color leading into it from the petals.

Very, very confusing. Explaining would help. You move your hands a lot, like a circus magician, it's hard to get what you're trying to show. Maybe the camera, used from above, would give you a better angle.
