hey man i have the rc 50 as well as the micron, more recently i've been trying to incorporate my electronic drums from my comp but like you i would lovvve to stray away from my laptop, any suggestions?
@AbioticSneaker I would definitely suggest and MPC (I use a 1000). Or you could go with a Roland SPD-S? Or there sampler, the SP 404. All would do the job. Cheers for watching. Glad you like man.
Hiya. You remind me of me when I used loops like you do now, but instead of that I used a computer and looped it at 8 bars and added piano riffs and so on. At the end I forgot about time and ended with a 25 minute organ life show. I had great time and I don´t know why I stopped making non-live music with the pc. IT got tired of the routine. So thanks for the new ideas. I will be looking into that sampelr and boss thing on the floor. I just love to experiment with the sound of sound.
Fantastic work, was tipped off by my boss at work. This Re-work, in particular evokes artists such as Four Tet, yet with more gradual uplift and solid grooves/rhythms. Brilliant stuff, I shall now subscribe!
The way you build your tracks live is cool but do you ever wonder if slowly building up each part of a track is sacrificing the freedom you would otherwise have to compose songs that build less slowly?
@TheSludgeMan: I can't see that there is any other way of doing it using a loop pedal. You have to record a loop, and then layer it. I have all the freedom I want when I am in the studio actually recording my music. But for a live performance, if I want to keep it away from a laptop and stick with instrument and sample live loops I have to do it like this. Being a one man band has it's limitations! Hahaha.
@Cazaq I make and record all my own samples. Mostly my own instrumentation with a bit of audio manipulation. The samples I start with are a piano and LFO organ. The organ sound has also been run through a program called Forester (created by Leafcutter John) to make it warp like it does.

The entire track is brilliant, but the drop at 5:45 and onwards is the best thing I've ever heard. Very long build, totally worth the wait. Amazing!

What's the very sample you play made out of? (the watery piano texture thing that floats in the background)
Also do you make your own samples for the MPC or are they just from the interwebz.
