I thought Sacks was quite reasonable in a recent bbc programme in which he debated atheists, I think he comes across as a bit of an idiot in this video.

Israel has rejected peace in favour of expansionism for 60 years.
He is not a staunch zionist like a lot of others who support Israel but is very liberal in his views. He has attended many left wing demonstrations. I was initially against the Israeli invasion of Gaza but now know that the real people to blame are Hamas. If only Fatah had been elected then there would have been peace after Israel withdrew from Gaza in 2005.
