Be sure to thank Harper and the Conservative government every time another one of our kids come back in a body bag! Its not the Canadian kids fault, they are only trying to make a living and get ahead in life by joining the army. On the other hand, our government only wants to play nice with the Americans at our young generations expense. Shame on you Stephan Harper!
My God what is wrong with some people. Can u show some kind of respect. What is more important...showing respect to a fallen soldier or correcting spelling of someone who is trying to?My father is 89 years old and served in the Canadian Navy during ww11.I have brothers, brother in laws, and nephews in the Canadian Military.Do not dare say a soldier is not a hero.Whether they come back or not each one is a hero. The Highway of Heroes is more than a highway. It is a pathway to their families.!!!!!!!!!
.. May we NEVER stop figthing for what is RIGHT - our Freedom, Democracy, Liberty and our Western convictions & firm beliefs!!! The World DEPENDS on that we NEVER will stop fight against those who attacks & despite our Love to our FREEDOM! - All my Honourable Respect & the fullest Recognition to all these BRAVE young Men and Women from an for ever allied Nation - Sweden! -
I pray for every military and their families Thank you Bob to support our troups on this way you are very special that song touch my soul. Thank you !
Did you see this video and write the song to it, or did you have the song idea then put the video to it? And how did you get Rik Emmett to do the solo!
My dad was a military man and I wrote my own song ("The Heroes Highway") about a year ago from what I read in the newspapers. I see some similar themes and even generic wording (e.g. "sons and daughters") now that I've listened to yours. Don't know about you, but I can still hardly play my own song without crying some...
Thank You Bob... today we stood at Castlefrank and Bloor in Toronto to pay tribute to the 144th Canadian Soldier Private Kevin Mckay who came along the Highway of Heros
that song sure doe make me proud to be a canadian and it made me cry just now as i watched it. Thank you Bob Reid for making this song and video. I supportm our troops and i acknowledge that the ones who volunteer know and accept the biggest riask of all that is involved in a war, that they may come home in a casket and never see their families or friends again.
Thank you for this moving tribute to both the fallen and the every day Canadians showing support for the families. A good reminder that Remeberance is not a single day for the distant past.
Thank You Bob this was an amazing song, it means alot to my family, my father in-law is WW2 vet and my son is in Air Cadets and I lost an old family friend over the, so again thank you
This is a very nice song and video. It's a great tribute. For another tribute song you should watch "Ode to the Canadian Soldiers", by Mirage 3 on youtube
This is the most Beautiful song dedicated ot our heroes fallen and fighting... God Bless all those who are our Heroes fighting and who have fought for our freedom.. Lest we forget!!!!
Bob I am a serving member in the Military. Your song is a great tribute to all our fallen friends and comrades and seeing everyone lining the 401 giving their respect makes me proud to serve Canada and all who live within. Less We Forget. Thank-you
This is a wonderful song! Having been the the highway myself, I feel this song captures the feeling of being there. Very well done! Thank You Bob and All!
Wonderful, Bob. You are one more reason I am a proud Canadian. Tomorrow is Remembrance Day 2009, may all Canadians; children, parents, grandparents, great grandparents who suffered any cost to give us peace, and justice be remembered now and always.
"We will never surrender", yes, and we will never forget.
I have always been a very proud Canadian. This video reminded me of why this is greatest country in the world. I'll take our quiet patriotism over arrogance and false bravado any day.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful piece with us this Rememberance Day.
