Ahhhhhhh!!!!!! Really, how hard is it to fabricate the original with modern safety BS? If someone doesn't make one soon, I'm sure a few of us serious Vox lovers could come to a common site and start delegating research topics. The first would be oscillators. If a tube can be manufactured again then there is nothing difficult about dusting off some old drawings and going to work. The problem though, is a true combonaut cherishes owning an original. I'd trade mine for a REAL new 1 if a kid got 1 2
I still have my continental from 67. Works perfectly. NOTHING sounds like a continental. The real continental only has 4 octaves, where I see this thing has five. Digital is BS.
Well, consider yourself a lucky, priviliged man. I need one of these things. Sometimes they're around, from £ 60 (it doesn't work!) to $ 40.000 (John Lennon's own, as seen as Shea Stadium, on sale at an auction). I'd get in touch with you if I happen to be in the States; please feel free to get in touch if you're in London!
By the way, this was posted a while back; it's the new Vox any closer to making the Connie again? Let me know, anybody, if you do know. Thanks
I doubt this thing will see the light of day. They should really market it for what it is and leave the Vox continental name off of it. A wolf in sheeps clothing or viseversa. No matter how you slice it,s not a Connie.
Analog is way better than Digital, Its just now-a-days people are too lazy and spoiled to pull out a few drawbars. (I actually LOVE the Drawbars on my Hammond Organ, it has so much of a vintage vibe when you're playing and change the drawbars :D)
Man, I couldn't agree with you more. Analog all the way. You have a Hammond? I'm jealous!! Never played a Hammond b4. 6 drawbars on my Vox is all I've ever used except in music stores. What model do you have? You gotta post a vid up soon my friend.
Uh I got a Hammond Aurora Classic :D, Not exactly the greatest one you can get, but its nice, my Organ/Vocal teacher sold me it for 100 bucks because she didnt want it anymore. Its pretty cool, doesnt really sound like a Vox, but it does have a good Vintage sound and feel to it. (The white keys have all faded to yellow now :P)
The market needs a new analogic combo organs. The people. The people wish them and look for them. Todat, A analog combo organ should be very cheap, because his technology is old and his short number of voices. If a modern keyboard with 500 voices and 200 rhythms is attainable, an analog combo organ have to of it being more even. Very cheap.
eheh... even the minimoog technology is old and should be cheap... but quality still has a price! it will be very cool to see te Vox back in action same technology and design like the '60 one! very nice!
That's where you wrong. First of all, you show me a keyboard with 500 voices.
Second, analog is all about quality and precision, it is expensive, if you want to build something good. The technology is old, but still expensive ;D
Digital is cheap to produce.
You don't get it - it is not about designing musical instruments, it is all about profit.
COME ON, MAN! There's a market for a new combo organ. Some of us aren't hardy enough for the vintage ones.
GIMME a vox combo! What a tease! I saw this and fell out of my chair only to then see it's a CX-3 (had one) and there isn't even a prototype. LOOKS are everything?
This hurts. I don't have that long to live (illness) and now i'll never have a combo organ.
This is a cruel and mean-spirited trick. Hope you meant to upset this dying and now-embittered organ enthusiast; you sure have.
Well... You could buy an Nord Stage, then buy some VOX badges and glue them on, and also go to some specialist company and replace all the keys with inverted ones...
I'm going to do that with my Nord when I have enough money. :)
Agreed. I own a Nord C1 Combo Organ. It's spot-on for the Vox sound. The Stage has it as well. Soup it up with the Vox logo and there you go.....But yes, Nords are very expensive!
Yeah, I'm trying to find out about this myself m3d. I saw a picture of Ray Manzarek playing ONE gig with his Rider on the Storm using a "Vox" cabinet. Ray actually uses the Alesis Qs8.2 88 weighted, but he recently (at least for one gig) inserted the board into the cabinet that looks VERY similar to the "new" vox. I don't think it was ctually this Korg, but the wood, red cabinet looked to be the same production line. We need more info. on this beast.
He wouldn't've needed a keyboard bass--those Korgs have a good left-hand bass area, if a keyboardist has a good left hand. I know this jazz cat in RI who had a wooden Korg. He approximated Jimmy Smith w/just his left hand.
More of an expression of "no way" but will most likey offend people. Anyway, is this really Tara???? If so, any word from Leslie at Korg? If this is Tara, I love your material and performances. You're awesome!!!!!
obviously they are using a coined phrase to express, let's call it 'dismay', over the bait-and-switch that this video has scammed us with. How can you be a part of this? Doesn't bother you in the least to deceive people?
Hope so!! The Rhodes piano has been reissued. Mark VIII I believe.

Yep, just a repainted Korg CX-3. I guess Vox organ will sell better, than a Korg organ.

if i could ever afford a hammond xk1, a vox continental, and a waldorf zarenbourg piano... you know i'd jump at that...
