Parl323- My wife and I visited Havana 2yrs ago.We stayed at the famous National Hotel where cubans we made friends with were forbidden entry even at our invitation. We toured the non-tourist areas and the poverty, squallor,ghettos were something from Dante's inferno. Also, apartheid is practiced in the tourist beaches were cuban citizens are not allowed. Next time, I'll go to Haiti!!!

La dictadura Fidelista no estaba preparada para este tipo de musica y la destruyo como ha destruido todo durante 50' anos de represion. Yo soy de Cayo Hueso. La cancion Habana me acuerda de varias canciones Americanas, que creo que los Zafiros las traducieron al espanol despues. Estoy tratando de acordarme cual canciones pero no se me pegan a la memoria ahora mismo. Hay muchas otras canciones de los Zafiros, en los enlaces de la derecha.
Si, efectivamente como comenté en la explicacion, al lado a la derecha, hay influencia de la musica norteamericana en Los Zafiros, la hay tambien en el llamado genero "Feeling". Pero desde mucho antes la musica cubana influyo en el Jazz, y otras cosas, nacido en New Orleans.
Si, ojalá lleguemos a ser como los españoles que supieron aprender a respetarse despues de acabar el franquismo, aunque en realidad la historia no empezó. en 1959...
