I laughed at your concern about using a knife to remove the avocado pit but then you cut your tomato halves in a way that they were moving all around and could have slide away under the pressure of the knife cutting them. You should have put the flat side of your tomato half 'flat side down' to give you a stable cutting source.

You are absolutely right... about the way I cut the tomato. I should have turned it the other way. Thanks for pointing this out. Got to make sure to start out with a very sharp knife. Good observation.

I'm still proposing not to whack an avocado seed with a sharp knife while holding the avocado in your hand.
