if the main actress was named the most beautiful woman in the world (by who?), then it's probably because she practically looks white (light skin, eye colour)...I notice that a lot of celebs that aren't white try to look white & then get praised for it....I mean, she's pretty, but I've seen other women who are just as beautiful that don't necessarily have a 'white' skin/eye colour

I don't see why you're unnecessarily making all the fuss about her skin colour...there has been many "Dark" Miss India Winners, some even went on to win International Pagents like Priyanka Chopra or Lara Dutta (Miss World 2000 and Miss Universe 2000 respectively)

You should watch her other films before you come to a conclusion, Guru, Taal, Iruvar, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Devdas, Chokher Bali, Raincoat, Kandukondain, Mohabbatein, Provoked, Sarkar Raj are few of her good films

What is interesting about this movie is that there is not much of a plot and mainly just a small store for sets. This film looks at the art of using spices to improve lives and delves into Aishwarya's internal conflict between love and duty, making this a very interesting and reinvigorating movie.
