The DD was an add in only released in Japan for the Nintendo 64. The sales were very poor, so the game was cancelled. It was only in the very beginning development stages, and the only info known is that it woud have Luigi since it would be a multiplayer game and that it would be a sequel to SM64.

The REAL reason it was canceld:2 video games. They are:Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario 64 DS. Super Mario 64's moves were copied into super mario sunshine, all but long jump, and backfilp,scinse there is no crouching in Super Mario Sunshine. Also in sunshine there was F.L.U.D.D. Nintendo desided to make super mario 64 2, but scinse the Nintendo 64 is old they expanded the material and made it Super Mario 64 DS. So Ninitendo will never make a super mario 64 2.

@awsomeguy1100 well, in the middle of the main room there is a sun mat. get enough stars and there will be a light shining down on it. when this happens, zoom in on marios head and look up while on the sun mat. you should teleport. it will lead you to some place, and all you have to do is go to the tower in the middle and ground pound on the big red switch. then there will be red boxes in certain levels grab the Wing Cap and triple jump. you should be able to fly
