Man,the US could use the old rough rider right now. TR was a major hardass and didn't take guff off of anyone. A child of the aristocracy kicking the monopolies asses, only in America. I heard a recording of TR, this actor is spot on.
Outstanding. Dead-ringer, who has TR's voice and accent fairly mastered. In those days before radio, you had to be heard by the folks in the back rows.
Who are these arrogant people who think great men need run past a committee of idiots for approval?
What gives these narcissists the right to unwarranted self-importance?
What the late Bill Hicks (perhaps 2% the man Roosevelt is) says can be applied to most critics and editors: peons trying to ruin anybody who tries to do anything because they can't do it themselves.
Besides don't the characters and public speeches from old 40s & 50s era visual media talk a little funny sounding as well? And through the years didn't the sound quality improve until around the 1980s voices in television and on the radio began to sound very close if not indistinguishable from those of today? It seems to me that the primitive gramophone technology used as far back as the turn of the 19th century was highly insufficient for capturing what a person's natural voice sounded like.
Not saying that it's a bad thing (because no matter what he ever sounded like he would still be the most respectable and accomplished human being to have ever lived) but how could such a large, husky man with such great physical prowess have a high pitched voice? Isn't the reason he sounds like that to us because audial recording technology was of poor quality and speakers had to annunciate in such a way to ensure the sound quality of the recording?
@hiddenhawk13 Yes, you're right, all kinds of tricks can be played by the recording registering too high or low. The truth is we'll never know exactly what he really sounded like but my intuition, based on those recordings, is that his voice wasn't this high. But of course you're right, we'll never really know.
@tdoggpig Actually, if you 'youtube' any of teddy's speeches, you will find that teddy sounded 'faggier' than this impression. And just like you, I'm sure many people also prejudged him because of his voice. But I assure you, first came Teddy Roosevelt, then Chuck Norris.
like, politically and/or morally strongest? or like physically strongest? because i'm pretty sure TR could bench press an ox... and then eat it for dinner.
His ascent is right on. But don't be deceived, he is the most freaking manly president in American history and could beat the crap out of Vladimir Putin!
@mangler117 He was manly alright, but I think Andy Jackson would've wiped the floor with him. Just saying. But yeah, original American BadAss hits White House!
@mangler117 Teddy got smashed in the face by his own general after he dared him to box.. That punch left him partially blind. I don't think he could beat up Putin.. But Teddy had heart and he would have never stopped going after Putin... Just sayin..
One of the alltime great quotes from one of the alltime great Americans. Too bad this is a video of a lousy actor with a voice like a woman. Classic, pertinent statement though.
@ussseaw0lf Not only that he also looks just like him too jesus christ I actualy thought he was Teddy Roosevelt!.
I bet he is just like him also right down to the core whoever this guy is I would give him a shot as President and see if he can end this messed up shit we have now in this country!.
Was this part of a larger show?

His accent is spot-on. TR was posh and from NYC. Also, don't mess with the Colonel.

His voice is too high for it i think, if you listen to his speech of "the right of the people to rule" his voice is alot deeper

@mrmunkyman1 No, actually Roosevelt was made fun of for his squeaky, high pitch voice.

Lousy impersonation, with the pitch being too high and not even close to the accent of TR.
