After watching this and Tchachina's performance, I realized that Alina really did deserve gold. While Tchachina's overall looks much better, her routine didn't have half as many risks as Alina'a did. And Alina brought in some interesting moves likes rolling on the floor while having the ball locked.
@ogredan100 I also thought Kabaeva won because of more risky routines, but then I saw the detailed scores and Kabaeva had values higher than Ira not only in Technical Value (which corresponded to the actual D1) and in Artistic value (which also evaluated apparatus elements, if I'm not mistaken), but also in Execution... :| And so I'm a bit confused, because Alina's routines were no way cleaner than Ira's ones, because Kabaeva made some mistakes in all her routines. Little mistakes, but she did.
I love this routine! But it really looked like she used a lot of energy to do her jumps. It didn't look very, flowy and graceful, it sort of looked like it was tough for her to do those jumps. Because in other routines she can leap more than 5 feet off the ground, and not struggle at all. But this routine, she made it look like her legs weighed 75 pounds... Don't yell at me for this, it's only my opinion.
@guiy16 tchachina did the same poses over and over again just in one routine, and who says anything about this? nobody, just because her name isn´t kabaeva. who cares, kabaeva won the medal and yulia barsukova won the medal...i think it´s unfair to say that all these girls don´t deserve the medals. only one can get the gold, and besides that, every girl who works hard in this sport fucking deserves such a gold medal, but there is only one place on the top and only the rules says who can reach it
@Zsukki and besides this, the gold medal don´t say kabaeva was without any failure, it just tells you that her performances were all-arround-better than the performances of the other girls. even it was just 0.001 point in the end.
@Zsukki She got gold because Vinner has influence on judges and because she was Viner's favorite. Bad happaratus handling, unfinished skills, sloppy execution, unaccurate catches with mistakes sometimes, flat feet on the scorpion pirouette, it's not even a pirouette, there is no relevé. Tchachina and Besso had way better execution, with no major mistake for Besso and one mistake for Tchachi, good apparatus handling, accurate catches. Kabaeva got lots of gold she NEVER deserved. A shame
@guiy16 you are a fucking alina hater: whats with the catch from 0.58?? she catched with one hand and turned in one of the most difficult pivots!! you are great in overlooking her amazing tricks!!! her difficulties are unbeatable!!
Thank you for posting! But... This is horrible! She won just because she is Russian moreover because she's the Alina Kabaeva! She didn't even have to try, she should've retired in 2002 when we truly loved her but I personally think Almudena Cid had the best ball routine and Simona Peycheva was great.

@guiy16 The catch was outside of the line of sight, so she could use both hands.
I can't believe all the gymnasts in the top 3 got such inflated scores.
