my team in 1998 in the UK ran 2.44 - broke the British record at the time. We were the second to last team of the day to run - then the last team of the day ran 2.42 -had to be the French!
JeffLewis99: In 1998 in UK my team ran 3:06 and in 2003 (in Holland) my team ran 3:03. So yes 3:30 is good but has been beaten many times during the years.
2:27 is an amazing accomplishment. No CIOR team has broken 3:30 since at least 2000. The burning lungs is not something anyone who has not done the land-o can ever understand. It is just brutal.
Had to dig out some 24 year old training logs to check team times - I found 2:41 team time in training(@ Ft. Sam) before heading to Rome. My p.r. was when I just went for it in training and didn't wait for anyone.

I did this in 3:06 in 1992. Don't know if there is an official record but I imagine it's about 2:40-something
