  • @christm5 Only person who makes the money is the wholesale. The people I just described in my last comment make enough money to buy the new colorful Nike's at the local sneaker shop and a juice from the bodega to fend off their thirst while workin the street during the summer heat. You call that money? You don't know what money is then. How old are you anyways, like 50? Lol wtf.

  • Watts California Is The WORST! Call a Totally All Black GHETTO Partyline Number at 1 407 284 1212

  • New York isnt that dangerous. Its more dangerous for the people who live there and are into the gang shit. If you visit or live there and dont mess around then you're pretty much gonna be okay. Obviously there's exceptions. Someone may talk shit or somethin but other than that you're fine. That whole gangsta life shit is gettin old anyways. There's nothin to it but some dumbass kids tryin to make a name for themselves or pretending to be like their favorite rap artist.

  • @GreazyMuhfoh

I agree, I grew up in Philly and when I got to New York, I didn't even have to look back when I walked.

  • @anythingnew Yeah. the main problem with NY is all the wannabe tough guys always wanting to start shit.

  • @GreazyMuhfoh how u figure that think any1 tuff?? peopl dont do anything to be tuff itz juss wat ppl to to survive demselves loll u make no sense kan tell u aint grow up around ppl trynna make it a rough way unless u might know its not as simple as trying to be tough u soung stupid........and wtf yankee stadium how yall komment on it like its the hood ITS YANKEE STADIUM WTF TOURIST SPOT DICKS ......

  • @anythingnew I live in Jersey, lived in and born in Queens in the 1980's and when I was in Philly I could flash jewels and didn't have to worry about nobody sticken me. NYC back in the 80's and 90's you would get your head cut off. Rember NYC back then had over 2000 murders in a single year. Philly is corny and will never be that bad, philly is the corniest in the Northeast its country like the south a whiteboy's city. Camden NJ makes philly look like paradise.

  • im from kingsbridge in da bronx our crime picked up. my brother lives in da South Bronx 171st. South Bronx is worst then Detroit,Compton,or ATL.

  • detroit is a piece of shit i seen pictures of it and looks like a fucking ghost town. no people, no cars and, no stores to even buy food. at least in new york we can buy food around the corner in detroit you have to go to a mall or something. and new orleans sucks, basura, trash who cares about a bunch of fucking crackheads who live next to you or dope heads all around the street. At least we got standards to tell them to get out the streets and do thier shit some where else.

  • its that kind of superioty effect you got goin that keeps poverty and racism alive.

    yea i blame you. haha.

  • new orleans is already like detroit is 100 times worst the people the area ect.

  • Well looks like someone has done it again tourists recording the bronx. Being from the bronx it gets me mad when people record dumb shit like this and put on youtube. and just because you dont see somebody geting shot live on camera dont mean it s dangerous. People from all citys have their way of thinking and living in the city where their from at least we can walk down any street and not have to worry everytime for somebody to ask what set we from or if you are folk or people dumb ass

  • South Bronx, the South South Bronx (4X) Many people tell me this style is terrific It is kinda different but let's get specific KRS-One specialized in music I'll only use this type of style when I choose it Party people in the place to be, KRS-One attacks Ya got dropped off MCA cause the rhymes you wrote was wack So you think that hip-hop had it's start out in Queensbridge If you popped that junk up in the Bronx you might not live Cause you're in... South Bronx, the South South Bronx (4X)
  • the worst street in the Bronx is 183rd...

All them streets that intersect with it are death.....

  • new york is one big steaming, crowded, exciting, dangerous, tuff, concrete jungle.

  • In jail, the bronx looks like a tea party.

  • Wow I used to live in treemont.

  • well its better than i live looks cleaner

  • South Bronx is the most ghetto, if not the worst place in NYC.

  • i agree and i live here

  • check out these ghetos in ireland southill and ballymun worse than d bronx

  • But Ireland is mostly whites, so that doesn't seem hood to me

  • hood does not refer to race....

  • lol but I really can't imagine white people living in bad conditions...

besides, the area around Yankee Stadium is developed. Go North about 20 blocks, and you're going to see remnants of 70s arsons, fires, demolitions, other things.

  • thats pretty racist =/ and there r white people here....just not a popular race. and vice versa there r tons of black ppl who live in Downtown manhathan...

  • I'm an Aussie whiter than snow and trust me the neighbourhood I grew up in would give a big-mouth bitch like you nightmares. You do realize USA isnt the only country with ghettoes right?? fuck you shit me

  • hell yea i realize that. The good thing about America is that it is so mixed in terms of race. So you can't just talk bout one race. Although Bronx used to be the "Jewish Borough," the inexpensive apartments led to settling of minorities and white flight. Then the crack epidemic hit... :(

Well this area is near Yankee Stadium, so of course it HAS to be develop. Go about a few miles/kilometers you'll see the real "South Bronx". I believe S. BX is just a state of mind tho.

  • Alright. I want you to do me a favour and type in any of these choices:

    Brightmoor 2009

    Driving in West Detroit

Driving Tour of Detroit's Ghetto (Part 1, 2, or 3!) Driving in Highland Park, MI

Then you can tell us how such a loving country like Australia could top that.

OMG PERTH IS MORE GHETTO BIATSHCH !

  • Wow u are really fuckin stupid

saying dumb shitlike thatproves how ignorant and cluelessyou really are about the world. more white/hispanic/asian basically every race lives in worse conditions than those negroes in he US.open your eyes just because all this african-american sruggleis highly publisised doesnt mean black folk r the only ones who go through shit.

  • God your embarassing please ( Niggers ) Learn how to spell.

  • QUEENS ALL DAY!!!! NT DA bx

  • rome's neighboroughs are just 10 times worst than this

i mean for the place's integrity...and maybe for criminality

  • where the graffiti at?

  • `this is 161 st con river

  • Now days NYC is full of dominicans everywhere!!!

  • Yea. Thats 161 and river

  • South Bronx looks like paradise compared to places like Detroit and most southern city neighborhoods.

  • yeah but nyc was the worst place in america for 22 years.nothing will be like the south bronx used to be in america, unless we get another big war goin or a depression. if you want to see what the south bronx was like rent the movie wolfen, they have some ill shots overhead of all of nyc during the late 70's

  • I wasn't livin in a relativly bad neighborhood when i was livin in nyc during the 80's, i lived on 35 st between 8 and 9 ave and that was not even considered a bad neighborhood, and it was the biggest shithole I've ever lived in. Every day when i got up to go to work there were condom wrappers and human excrements on the floor in the entrance to my apartment. A homeless woman once pulled her dress down and took a shit in front of me on my block. I'm sure la can be dangerous but nothing like nyc

  • yo jaged15. thems sort a peoples is crackheads they everywhere, jus most a them in NY. so yous is tellin me NY is dangerous cos a crackhead takes a shit on yo block???

  • LA niggas got no kinda style. the only reason yall niggas got any notariety was because of 2pac and the niggas was from the east coast. lol come to new york nigga and get sliced by my razor. niggga what you know bout gettin buck 50? youd wish you got shot once that happen.

  • ha bitch suk yo mama's dick foo, tired a hearin all dis bullshit nigga.

2pac fucked eastcoast cos they all bitches jus like u an yo mama faggott. yous is fukin wack east coast rotten apple biggie dick ryders.... westcoast baby VV

  • West Coast can suck Tupac's dick. Nigga's a bitch.

  • you west coast niggas is wack

  • come get yo buck 50 nigga.

  • Just checked out wolfen on youtube and you're right, it's unbelivable, I can beleive the richest country on earth had living conditions like that.

  • dont forget south queens, crime up there especially in far rockaway

  • And Long island made secongd safest place in the nation.

  • type in south bronx in google, click images. the shit you see is still there today

  • "I see dead people"

  • anything south of the cross bronx expressway is the south bronx and that includes yankee stadium and the bronx court house however even those facilities that are not associated with it is located in the south bronx. Cross bronx expressway is the borderline or in other words the physical barrier the seperates the south bronx from the bronx.

  • Na the south Bronx is everything south of Fordham rd. All those neighborhoods suffered the same shit. The 46th precinct above the cross Bronx had 83 murders in 1990, second only to the precinct in the above hood, which had 89...

  • Thats not the South Bronx, Thats more West side Bronx. He is walking between a Bronx Court house and Yankee Stadium Train station.

Jerome Ave is not considered South Bronx, Sorry.

The Bronx is Hunts Point, Southern Blvd. 172nd Street and Crotona park.

Actually, if you were standing in the middle of South Bronx now, you wouldn't notice it. Its been reconstructed. There are Private houses all over the place.

If you want to see the south Bronx, Rent Fort Apache, Wild Style or Beat Street.

  • Lmao. I bet you're not even from The Bronx, smart alec. Been doing too much research there. There are parts of the Westside that are still considered to be in the SOUTH. Just like Soundview is located in the Southeast bronx, the Yankee Stadium area is the Southwest Bronx. But still the South nonetheless. How you gonna say 172nd is the South Bronx but 161st and River Ave, which comes before 172nd Street, is NOT?

Get a subway map. Then correct your "facts"

    BX represent!!!

  • Funny...Just looks like a rainy day in th BX to me! Home of Baseball, Hip-Hop...The list could go on and on and on...Which is why you are here peepin The Bronx "MrBoston"..Go win all the baseball you want..You'll never be New York City!!!

  • FUCK YOU MEAN?! Dats right there by da stadium, why am i even watchin dis dum shyt.

  • what was the purpose of this video.. just noise

bordom incorporated, and everyone that responded to it, fell into his trap. no life

  • y dont u go try livin there

  • New York is a lot safer and cleaner than it used to be. Gulliani really cleaned that joint up. It's still has a lot of crime like any big city. But it's safe for the most part. I never knew why people where so petrified to go to parts of NY in the first place. I never feel threatened at all. I wouldn't recommend standing on the street corner, by yourself at 3 a.m tho. There are a lot more dangerous neighborhoods out in Long Island like Hempstaed, parts of Amnityville and Wyandanch.

  • Gulliani sucks. he didnt that much to crime...bloomberg saved our asses

  • Amityville is safe as hell are you kidding me. I go there all the time nothing happens. Its the freekin suburbs. not that that has anythng to do with it, but juss sayin. it;'s safe as hell on long island. the only towns that are remotley dangerous are sometimes Roosevelt, and Hempstead. thats it

  • Amnityville has it's bad sections, and then it's got it's rich areas. Long Island is safe for the most part, but there are some areas like Hempstead that can't get bad at times. I'm not saying that you're goping to get mugged every time you walk outside, but you really can't run your mouth. I've lived in both the city and out on the island. I never found either of them to dangerous.

  • It depends where you live. you can't possibly go to the projects in University Heights in the South bronx and say thats safe. Far from it. South bronx has the highest murder and crime rate in NYC. And Bushwick, East New York, Brownsville and prts of bed-Stuy aren't much better either.

  • I've lived in Bensonhurst, Canirsie, Brooklyn Heights, and Brownsville for a bit. And then Long Island too.

  • New york is very safe now in fact its safer than alot of small rural citys. theres still a few bad neighborhoods like anywhere but overall its less dangerous than even small towns in Iowa and Ohio and times square is like disney world, so clean and shiny. there are some new yorkers who dont like the change, they liked the rough image, being from NY doesnt make you tough anymore. the old NY will never come back its dead those people who take pride in a slum of a city should move to detroit.

  • this is actually true, many places in NY used to be really fucked up back in the 80's, some parts of the city looked like the neighborhoods had been bombed or something. It used to be ranked one the most dangerous cities in the world along with Bogota and Capetown, but things changed real fast from the early 90's

  • this video's shit. nothing to see

  • my ass would never ever go there!!!!

  • hay ha im from thare!!

  • bx gettin better unlike fuckin newark shit is still dangerous out there bricks 4 life though lol

  • It's getting better though especially the downtown area at night now that they have the prudential center there.

  • this is where ill be the 22nd!!!!!!! up in job corp tho

  • i dont understand... u want props for surviving?

  • cus youre in south bronx! south south bronx!

  • 161 all daii babi lolz

  • right close near 2 manhattan

  • thats my hood son believe that

161 st yankee stadium. on the left. if you look to the right at the end of the video you can see a crane where there building the new yankee stadium. the train station he passed over head was the 4 train. B X mother F**kers

  • english guy filmin in ny.. beats me

  • Yeah And?????

  • If Charlotte St. is in Morrisania and it is mostly populated by Afro-Americans, what happened to the Puertoricans who lived there and when did they leave en masse? In the movie Wild Style I saw many PR's.

  • The ghettos in NYC are tame compared to back in the day 80's, now the city will kick out all the poor bc the projects will be torn down, they'll put in luxury high rises and the sb will be gone forever, thank god

  • Yes, I agree with you,Josecito..the situation was much worse 25 years ago, when violence in the Bronx was always ready to break out. Anyway, one has to keep eyes wide open when walking round some suburbs, specially in Morrisania neighborhood....a real jungle at nights.

  • Morrisania, where is that? I remember NYC 1985 and I miss it. The good outweighed the bad. The Nuyorican girls with the tails, bombers, etc where are they now?? I was in NYC in Jan. IT HAS CHANGED!! Lots of Mexicans and cops. The police have the city under lock and key which is good. Back in the day, I never saw the police. There was more people interaction. The schoolyards are empty now. I was told the police do not allow any hangin' out like back in the day. I was sad.

  • Morrisania is a neighborhood that lies north of Mott Haven, in the southwestern area of the Bronx, where the sadly famous Charlotte Street was. The president Jimmy Carter visited this place in the 70s, he said it was the worst neighborhood in the U.S., and maybe he was right. It was a really dismal, decayed place. Nowadays things have changed a lot, but it´s still a tricky area

  • Is that the area where the movie Beat Street was filmed? What ethnic groups live there now? I was in the S. Bronx in January by Grand Concourse. There were cops on almost every street corner. The Projects looked tame. Back in the mid 80's you did not have that massive police presence. Hey if that is what it takes for the peace to be maintained, then so be it. I also went to El Barrio (Spanish Harlem). I couldn't believe seeing WHITE PEOPLE living there. WOW, the times have changed.

  • Well Charlotte St. appears in the film Wild Style. Do you know what happened to the Dixie Club which appears in the film?

  • The reason why many whites are moving to east Harlem is because of the low rents they pay in this part of the city. I don´t remember those movies, "Beat Street" and "Wild Style", but I know that "Fort Apache The Bronx", featuring Paul Newman, was actually filmed on that location in 1981. At present, Morrisania is mainly populated by Afro-americans.

  • So when Fort Apache The Bronx was filmed, it was filmed in Morrisania. The 2 movies I mentioned show the same locations. I betting its the same area. The trains are above ground as compared to the Grand Concourse area where the trains are below ground.

  • How old are you?

  • Josecito, Most of all of NYC has changed. It definitely not the way it was in the 1980's or early 1990's. Everything is getting gentrified. the LES (except for the projects by the east river) is gone, the barrio is almost there. The bronx, little by little. Put it this way. You now see blanquitos by the Bruckner and Millville. It's for the better, people shouldn't live in adjacent poverty all their lives and their children's lives, etc.

  • My happiness was that poverty. My joy was THE PROJECTS. It wasn't all negativity. It was a tight knit immigrant puertorican community which is now gone. Back in the day, around the mid 80's, puertorican girls respected themselves and the culture, dated only PR guys. Now they los morenos and myself who wants a PR girl can not find one. I wish I had a time machine so I could go back to the 80's.

  • I hear you man. lol...I loved growing up in the LES (lower east side) during the 1980's. regardless the was a lot of drugs but your right everyone was tight. The dealers only messed with who ever messed with them. Big park jams, You could drink beers in the corner and the cops would just say to bag it. I miss it too. But nothing lasts forever...

  • Also black people were nice back then. There was this understanding between blacks and puertoricans back then, kinda a like in a familial way. We used to call them brothers. I remember they used to tell me about some pretty PR girls and would push to me date them. It was nice. Back in the day they never thought about dating them. They felt that was for us. Now 20 years later they have no problem dating them and furthermore they could care less about us PR's. That closeness is no longer there.

  • When did Times Square start to change? What was it like in 1989-1991? Thanks.

  • I would say after 1995 when Guliani came to power. Before then, Times Square was always touristy but 42nd Street between 6 and 8 Aves. Now that was something else. A lot old theaters. You could bring your own beer and weed. But too many fights used to break out, though. And you actually had .25 peeps shows and hookers walking the streets but that died out like in the early ninety's. True Story.

  • Thanks for the information. So say, in 1990, one could see johns soliciting street walkers in this area? During the day? Was the city ever as "dangerous" as they say it was? Alot of New Yorkers I talk to, seem like they want to "forget" those days. I appreciate you being so candid.

  • Oh yes New York City was a pretty dangerous place, especially during the 1970's all the way up to like the early 1990's. But then we were going through a financial crises (in the 1970's). The trains were all bombed up with Graffitti. Drugs dealers in the street corners. Some neighborhoods were notoriously dangerous. Especially the South Bronx. Even the LES (lower east side) was very bad. Blocks of burned down buildings for blocks on end. Or just empty block of gutted brick and glass.

  • All that's changed now for the better. But you still have some bad hoods. Like East New York. It just hasn't been touched by the real estate boom the city has been experiencing. That could change too. The Bronx is changing. But you still got to look over your shoulder depending where you go.

  • Wow. Were there any abandoned/wrecked cars on the street. I remember back in '90 kids were stabbed for there leather jackets and Air Jordans.

  • I lived in Ft. Greene, Brooklyn in 2002 and it was pretty gentrified, except for Myrtle ave going into Queens. 6 years ago that road was really wrecked and run down.

  • That area by Myrtle Ave. is still a little seedy but again this real estate boom, wow it's unbelievable, they building condo's like in the worst hoods. It's all this gentrification process. There wasn't abandoned cars in the middle of the street but they were left by the side walk for weeks. Now an abandoned car is normally picked up in a few days.

  • or the window bashed and the radio taken. trust me i live in the east bronx

  • i mean west

  • kids get shot now we upgraded its pretty bad

  • east new York or east bronx

  • Okay, so are we proud of this? I live in west bronx too. And you're right, yes, I've had my car broken into twice in one week. But it's nothing to brag about. I wish I can catch the SOB so I cut their arms off.

  • i aint say im proud im just tellin it how it it and wat was u talkin bout in ur other message about east new york did u mean the bronx or the state new york

  • I hear you, please don't take it wrong, no offensive intended. In regards to East NY, I was trying to explain to Oceanbelow, that in East NY (Brooklyn) and some parts of the bronx, you still have to look over your shoulder, although a lot of NYC has gotten safer over the years. Unfortunately, we still too many guns on the streets. And The young kids have no remorse for life and they just shoot you for anything.

  • Guns are the real issue, although the kids these days are arguably more aggressive, and as you explain, less remorseful. Without the large quantity of guns on the street, they will have less opportunity to exercise aggression to the level where innocent bystandsers are caught in the line of fire, and gangbanger shoot without conscious.

  • i hear you man but they have no remorse for life cuz nobody had any remorse for them man
