If i were to instead gem int haste would that be ok? because ive realized that haste is almost as important as int because ive never had mana isues and the spell power i guess is nice but would it be a dps increase to gem int haste

Since Mind flay is considered a DoT now it will behave the same way when clipping it. This is one reason why the MF macro you mentioned can actually be a dps loss. You want to clip your mf just before your last tick so it just keeps channeling as normal.
