The motion is mostly a preference, I dont scoop in a semi cricle. A kid I know draws back. But when you get the concept of pushing down on the puck its quite simple. I learned how to do it in about an hour and now i have to work on getting it on the back of my stick.

@100yrsofhabs first try with sticktape, then without, also tape the blade fully or almost fully so that it doesn't fall off. actually it's alot easier if you do this on the ice, you need to tape the stick anyway for playing on the ice. Also, an icehockeypuck on the ice will glide better and doesn't fall off your stick so easy, because it's rubber against rubber and that won't glide...

the first person to do it in a game was Mike Leg from Michigan in 96. The Michigan scoop is done just like it sounds. You scoop the puck up by sliding your blade under it. Michigan move is done by using heel or toe by applying pressure and toe dragging it back to pick it up.

there is obviously some type of magnet. thats why the puck lifted at 54 seconds when he didnt touch it and thats why he had multiple layers of tape on his stick.

if you pay attention the back of his blade taps the puck real quickly and i am pretty sure he has the extra layer of tape on the stick so it doesnt wear as fast on the cement,, a magnet fuck .. if you had half a brain and any talent you would realize how much easier it would be to learn the move as opposed to trying to find a puck with a magnet inside and than taping one to his stick,, i think some of you should invest in a stick and a puck and take lessons assholes its not rocket science...

About the tape job.  Does it really matter what your stick looks like? My black tape needed some repairs and all I had was white tape. I was too lazy to rip off all of the black tape. It was summer. Give it a rest.

same stick as me but that tape job is gay. For people who r wondering all you need is regular tape, some wax helps, and get ur WHOLE stick about 4 inches off the ice n make it so that the bottom of the blade of ur stick is where the top of the puck ends

The puck I practice with is called a PROPUCK. Google it and you can order it on the net. This is the best roller puck on pavement or concrete I have ever seen. I used that orange propuck puck in the video the summer I learned this move.

I FOUND A GREAT IDEA THOUGH !!! take a roll of hockey tape once its finshed so you just have the card-board left/or just abit of tape. and use that to practice with on wood floors.(or similar) DONT USE IT OUTSIDE :P and if you have abit of tape on it try both sides...one might be betr than the other ;)
