  • believe it or not, i'd rather die than have leprosy. I feel sooooo bad for all of da people who have this disease.

  • The drug therapy is remarkably effective, it is a cure for the disease. The problem lies in the detection of the disease and education of populations to make them aware of the risks. The disease if caught early is not dangerous, it is only if it progresses beyond the early stages that it becomes an issue

  • Truly sorry for all those who suffer from anything, ever. I am overwhelmed with compassion for all those needlessly suffering.

Hope as a divine intervention is devoid of merit today. If there was a god that truly cared about the pain and suffering of those with disease and healed a small percentage of them, why is the healing rate of the victims of amputation zero? All diseases have the potential of being "overcome" but the miraculous healing of an amputee has yet to be observed.

  • As for the comment that medicine is real; God is not. God is VERY real. Prayer is real. God heals...without medicine and sometimes with it. After all, Jesus made the first medicine..he spit in the dust and made mud and placed in on a blind man's eyes. Could have healed w/ out it, but chose to make the preparation for his eyes. There was a reason. Please to those who do not believe...there is a wide, wide world out there. Think beyond your world and realize there are those who need our care.

  • My father spent more than 20 yrs. treating persons w/ leprosy in New York city and has had patients w/ it right in middle America. I grew up having some of his patients-turned-friends over to dinner. None of us ever contracted the infection. Most wite people have natural resistance. The first thing he did when he met someone newly diagnosed was touch them. He knew it was so important to dispell the irrational myths and stigma associated w/ the name of the infection.

  • For those who do not believe leprosy is still a real disease, nearly 300,000 persons are newly diagnosed each year. That is about 100 times those diagnosed w/ polio.

  • Well, I was going to say, why not just pray or them to be healed, but then I learned there is a cure for leprosy. It's interesting to see medicine replace genuine healings of God.

  • medicine is real, god is not

  • your retarted!

  • I think you mean "retarded" but it's okay, the stupid have rights too.

  • well obviously your stupid not beliving in God...

How EXACTLY do you think every thing was started?

  • Oh dear...

  • You know lepers wont let you talk to them about God unless you actually touch them, because no one loves them for their desease and no one wants it so they stay away from them, but if you actually hold a leper they will feel loved, I know a man who is a missionary to the lepers hasnt had leporacy yet - The Lords work :D

  • i have always dreaded this dse but when i got to know some people in a leprosarium then i got to know their hurt. the stigma and the prejudice that they suffer.

its really sad to know that they dont even see themselves as human anymore.

  • Yes! Donate £21, and that'll save someones life. I'm sorry If I've already sent this, unsure if it worked.
